plexus Posted December 1, 2001 Posted December 1, 2001 It's closed Nov. 1 for habitat every year. And right now, you wouldn't get that far past the falls due to the snow. Quote
gregm Posted December 1, 2001 Author Posted December 1, 2001 does anyone happen to know if the wells creek road (off mt baker hwy) is open to the end or at least to where the snow gets deep? apparently they were planning to close it because of mt goats. i'm looking at the #8 tour in burgdorfer's new book. tiagreg Quote
tobytortorelli Posted December 4, 2001 Posted December 4, 2001 yes, closed every year from nov. to early july for migratory goats. the herd is a nice one of 12 members the last time i saw them..... chowder is great skiing in october and is sometimes good in july and august....those goats traverse the high country and are sometimes on coleman pinnacle just hanging out. the lake named 14 goat lake under the pinnacle is named after these... there are a couple different traverses you could make to get out there from mt. baker ski area and be on snow the whole time...T. Even my fiancee how has spent less time outdoors has seen the baa-machines. Me? Ohh-noo!!! I just keep running into bears Quote
