anyone got any beta on this tent? it is cheap and fairly lightweight for a 4 season tent. is it a good deal or a piece of crap?

and spare me the bibler talk, i am only asking because i may be able to get a good deal on one and my budget is not going to mysteriously quadruple.

Thanks

I've only played with it in the store.

It sets up real easy. You can pitch just the outer and leave the inner tent behind for an ultralight bivi style shelter.

It seemed plab to me, but I've only played with it in the store.

A friend of mine has one. Seems really nice, spent two nights in it, but in mild weather.

Maybe I wasn't paying attention, but I don't think the fly separates from the rest of the tent.

Yeah...it's a single wall tent.

Wrong. boxing_smiley.gif

It is a double wall tent, and the fly seperates if you want it to. You just don't seperate it in normal use.

From the Marmot website.

Fly fabric: 75d Polyester R/S 2000mm

Floor fabric: 70d Nylon 5000mm

Canopy: 40d Nylon R/S

Bold mine.

I would seriously consider waiting until next spring to buy a new tent. I think there is going to be a lot of new stuff coming out. wink.gif

Isn't this true every year?
