Cobra Posted April 17, 2003 Posted April 17, 2003 If it's bad I have a backup plan but looking at the Eldorado Roush Creek approach. Willing to jump through burning hoops of death before plan b. Just depends on how skinny those hoops are. Anyone been up there lately? Quote
Bill_Simpkins Posted April 18, 2003 Posted April 18, 2003 Last year is was no sweat. The log crossing was nice, the trail leads right to it. Quote
meganerd Posted April 19, 2003 Posted April 19, 2003 Yeah, I would doubt this "winter" has knocked out that big log. If your plan b is anywhere near Eldorado, definetely drive up there because your chances are good. Good choice of climb too because you'll probably hit snow just as you head into the talus fields (snowline at around 3500-4000 feet up there right now I think). Beyond that, the going is probably easier in the snow than during summer. Quote
Bill_Simpkins Posted April 21, 2003 Posted April 21, 2003 Yeah, it's really nice in the Spring. Watch out for poking through the snow in the talus field when the snow starts. Could be painful. Quote
Cobra Posted April 22, 2003 Author Posted April 22, 2003 I climbed it by myself. I wasnt worried about logs being knocked out or boulder fields. Have been up there before. Thanks for the useless advice. Quote
JoshK Posted April 22, 2003 Posted April 22, 2003 Holy shit, you soloed Eldorado!? Damn bro, that's hardcore, now I see why you can cop an attitude. Quote
Cobra Posted April 22, 2003 Author Posted April 22, 2003 Nobody was spraying or claiming some hardcore route.. As can be viewed by your title we can all see that you consider yourself hardcore. I prefer a liesurely pace and slow motion climb. Quote
JoshK Posted April 22, 2003 Posted April 22, 2003 I was mocking your "thanks for the useless advice" reply. My title is fecitious, btw. Quote

JoshK Posted April 22, 2003 Posted April 22, 2003 No, I was simply pointing out that you asked for advice, some people offered what they had and there was no reason to be a dick about it and sarcasticly thank them for their "useless advice." Quote
Cobra Posted April 22, 2003 Author Posted April 22, 2003 It's not advice worth noting if they have not been up there "lately" now is it? Quote
JoshK Posted April 22, 2003 Posted April 22, 2003 Still no reason to be a dick. Take care, man. Quote

Especially the "this winter" and log deal. I wasn't too concerned about what it was like last spring either. I beleive I was more concerned if the snowmelt had been so much that the log crossing might be scary and dangerous if you fell into the water or even if the water was so high it might cover the log partially.. Also some comments seemed genuine. It's pretty obvious to me. Quote

Cobra Posted April 22, 2003 Author Posted April 22, 2003 Being a troll is fun. I'll be hanging out under the log this summer charging a fee to cross the river. Quote
