JoshK Posted March 25, 2003 Author Posted March 25, 2003 No, sorry, I should have been more clear. I actually just checked and it's "North Star Mountain" under the official name. It sits due north of the Lyman lakes near the Bonanza peak area. Quote
dkemp Posted March 26, 2003 Posted March 26, 2003 No, but I've scrambled Cloudy Peak. Beautiful area. Quote
JoshK Posted March 26, 2003 Author Posted March 26, 2003 Yes, that entire area around Lyman, bonanza, railroad creek, etc. is gorgeous. Every time I view that south side of north star mountain it looks like it would be an awesome spring ski. Maybe I'll just have to go and find out myself. Quote
philfort Posted March 26, 2003 Posted March 26, 2003 There was an article on that area in an issue of Backcountry magazine this winter (with lots of great pictures)... I'm not sure if Northstar was mentioned in particular. (Maybe you already know this, and that's why you're asking?) Quote
JoshK Posted March 26, 2003 Author Posted March 26, 2003 No, I didn't, in fact, know that. Do you remember what issue it was? I would be interested in seeing it. Quote
philfort Posted March 26, 2003 Posted March 26, 2003 got it right here... Issue #34. The text on the cover says "Crusading in the Cascades". Also an article on Goran Kropp. Quote
