cmonster Posted November 7, 2001 Posted November 7, 2001 Any suggestions for alpine climbing this weekend? Shuksan/N Face? Buckner/N Face? Baker/Roman Headwall? How about rock routes? Quote
Mike_Collins Posted November 8, 2001 Posted November 8, 2001 I called the North Cascade NP today and they told me the road up the Cascade River was gated at the 21 mile mark. If you are going up Buckner you better bring a mountain bike also. Quote
genepires Posted November 8, 2001 Posted November 8, 2001 The rain is on the way so go east. I am told that maude is mush drier than the west side even for being a mountain. Ingals is another good rainy west side bet. Bet it will be crowded now. Oops, I did it again. Quote
DLL Posted November 8, 2001 Posted November 8, 2001 Since you threw some ideas out there, I'd advise against the Coleman Headwall and NFS due to the fact that it has been snowing pretty hard up there for about a week. These last two days have have been pretty clear, but I would give those big faces some more time to slide/settle before hopping on them. If you are not opposed to a long walk on a shitty road I would suggest the W. Rige of the N.Twin Sister. Mountain bikes make the approach, not to mention getting back to the car, much easier. Can't ride all the way though because of snow. Hope it helped. Quote
