dmcnair
Has anyone had a good look at the east facing slopes of Icicle Canyon in the past week? How much snow? How about formations? Any snow / ice free/ How about in canyon bottom. Can't wait.
rat
the icicle generally runs east-west so i am gonna assume you're interested in south facing rock climbing. while the valley floor in the icicle is still pretty snowy, there is alot of bare ground on the south slopes. there are a fair number of formations that are snow-free both in the icicle and lower tumwater canyons. dmcnair
Yes, south facing. Thanks for info!

Alex
S facing stuff is all snow free. There is still a bit of snow cover on the N facing stuff starting at about 1000 ft above the valley, but considering people have been climbing SCW for weeks now there should be nothing slowing you down anywhere in the Icicle or Tumwater (except maybe the temps...man it was cold on Castle on Sat!!)
