Heyo! I'm traveling to Portland/Seattle for the last week of April/first Week of May, and I was really hoping to do the following early in the trip: 2 days on Mt Hood, camping at Illumination Saddle, climbing a route each day. Ideally skin up & ski down from camp, but booting it from there. 1st day be up to Illumination Saddle early enough to drop camp/ski gear and fire the Reid Glacier Headwall. 2nd day leave camp EARLY, drop down and around to Sandy Glacier Headwall. Pick up camp on descent. Main criteria for a partner is that they are fit, have glacier travel experience, and are at least reasonably solid enough on AI2 in order to simul most/all of either route. Someone to join in the skiing is ideal, or at least someone who doesn't mind me skiing down after 😜. I am shooting for the April 29/30 weekend, but can do later days as late as May 2/3. Also willing to work with people just doing car-to-car efforts - ideally there I camp alone and trade off between partners between the days, but could just do car-to-car if there are no other options.

I will be hanging out in my van in PNW the second half of May. Flexible dates, looking for skiing and touring. Wants: Baker (Coleman-Deming), Hood (done it 4 times), Rainier (have fun on Muir, maybe summit?), Olympus (combine with packrafting, float from the summit to the ocean!!)

I am trying to get a couple of people together to take a ski mountaineering course this spring with AAI. Need three people total in order to book a spot and am new to the area. The course is six days long in late April/early March on Mt Baker. Link to the course details https://www.alpineinstitute.com/catalog/ski-mountaineering/ I am an expert skier with a moderate amount of backcountry experience and AIARE 1. I'm looking to get my glacier travel skills up to snuff and meet some people willing to earn their turns. Let me know if you're interested. Should be a good time. Wes

Only the boots left $100 Backcountry ski setup $600 Salomon MTN Explore 95 184cm skis Market Kingpin 13 bindings Kingpin crampons Black Diamond climbing skins Black Diamond poles Scarps Maestrale boots I believe they are 29.5 I wear a size 12 and I mostly wear Salomon footwear, for sizing comparison I used these for the last 4 years. I am a boarded but I bought this setup to teach my girls to ski and I had hopes of getting into ski mountaineering. They’ve been used gently inbounds with one Hood ascent/descent. I’d like to sell as a package, but I would consider offers on separate pieces too. 971-645-9112 located Portland

Hi Everyone, I'm looking for a partner(s) to Ski/climb off the Rainier summit sometime between 6/27 — 7/10. Open to an overnight(s) or a monster sufferfest kind of day. (I'll be driving in from out of town, but my timing is very flexible to hit some solid weather) I'd also be open to joining a group with a similar objective if you wouldn't mind including an extra. A bit of background on me: Climbing-wise, I'm a bit of a newbie but I have climbed/skied Mt. Baker, glaciated peaks in BC, and a number of the skiable glaciated subpeaks in the Fitzroy Range in Patagonia. I've never been on Rainier though and don't have experience leading. In a perfect world, I'd pair up with a person or group with more glacier / route finding experience than me. Ski-wise, I have a ton of experience. I would be happy to ski as spicy or unspicy of a line as anyone would be interested in. (I also design the US Ski Team's race suits for a living, which is a fun project) Fitness-wise, I can hold my own and would be happy to go at whatever pace you'd want unless you are trying to set a land speed record, then I'm probably not your guy. (Once upon a time I was ranked top 100 in the world in long-distance triathlon, but that was a long time ago [I'm 36 now] but I do I tend to enjoy type 2 fun. Also, I don't use a hyper lightweight setup as I tend to want to prioritize the "down".) Gear-wise, I have everything besides a tent, stove and rope. But I'm willing to purchase / pick those up. Conditions-wise, I'm sure that this is pretty late in the year for something like this, but hey it's 2020! In exchange I can offer a number of comical stories and at least 2 belly laugh jokes : ) Thanks and cheers! -Garen

Mammut Spindrift Guide 45L backpack asking $60 A ski mountaineering specific pack. Good size for overnights and longer, or can be stripped down for technical day trips. Easily carries camping, glacier, and snow safety gear. Probably closer to 60L when fully stuffed but carries okay when less than full. Features: removable metal frame (can replace with a foam pad for lighter weight and more versatility), shovel/probe pouch, side zip access, zippered hip pouch, gear loops, rope carrier strap, side compression straps. Clip ice tool carry works with modern tools and allows easy access while wearing the pack. Carries skis in a-frame and diagonal configurations. Probably could carry a splitboard, but I'm not sure. Modifications: added a bungee crampon carrier, cut off the brain so that it can be optionally removed. It's a nice pack that I've taken up a bunch of peaks. In fair condition. Some stitching is getting loose in non-critical areas but could be repaired. Email kamdh@uw.edu for fastest response. I'm in Fremont, Seattle.

Movement SkiAlpi 24L pack $60 Skimo style pack. Light and fast. Has a lot of features: diagonal carry with race carry system (fits wider skis than most skimo packs), small valuables pouch, tether attachment, ice axe carry. Velcro accessed crampon pouch, which I mostly used as a stuff area for a puffy. In good condition. In Fremont, email kamdh@uw.edu

Like new ski touring boots. I bought these 3 weeks ago and I skied in them twice but they are too small for me. They are crazy light and a rad boot for backcountry touring and ski mountaineering. Amazing walk mode and actually really stiff and decent on the decent too. I'll post a picture of the specifications of the boot. here are a few links to the boot - https://www.salomon.com/en-us/shop/product/s-lab-x-alp.html#color=10710https://sawtoothguides.com/2017/11/20/20172018-salomon-x-alp-ski-boot-review/I bought them for $899, so two uses cost me $200 haha but I need to sell them to buy a new pair so hey...The boots are 26.5 touring boots. Phone number is 5six2 three2one 8ninenine8shoot me a text and we can find a time for you to check out the boots. cheers! IMG_2189.heic -

$575 plus shipping or local pickup in Salt Lake. These boots look amazing, they are just half a size too small for me. Would also be interested in trading up to 27's if someone had the opposite problem! Brand new, still in box. $800 MSRP $639.96 on Backcountry.com From the manufacturer: Designed for aggressive backcountry skiing, the Men's Hoji Pro Tour Ski Boot balances a light weight with a progressive performance for riders who value downhill riding as much as easy skinning. Recent updates include a narrower toebox with the TLT inserts set closer to the front in order to maximize the boot's walking efficiency, and it eases your ability to step into tech bindings a lot easier than before. I was thinking about skiing Shata sometime next week (anytime between 07/22 and 07/26). I know how this sounds at this time of the year....I'm not looking for good skiing and I know this will mean carrying skis a long way but I was planning to go up Mt. Shasta anyway and I'd rather bring my skis and ski down as far as I can. Looking at some of the information available out there it looks that the Hotlum-Wintum ridge could be in ok conditions well into July in normal snowpack years. Well, if someone is willing to join let me know. Also, any beta or recommendations for a potential solo trip up there will be much appreciated.

The Dynafit TLT 6 Mountain CR Ski Boots strike a great balance between touring comfort, light weight, and precise control for the descent. These are lightly used, ready to have a new owner. You'll find them from $500-$600 new, so $150 is a steal!

I'm on the road and planning so spend late June and most of July in the PNW. I already have plans to ski Rainier with a friend, but besides that I would be down for any skiing or Alpine climbing. I'm available all week and pretty flexible with traveling. I have AIARE 1 and companion rescue. 10+ years experience sports, big wall and Alpine climbing. Have crevasse rescue training as well. I have all my gear including full rock rack with me. Let me know if you are interested.

Im looking for a partner to ski tour the south side climbing route of Hood, with the goal to summit Mt Hood on 5/25. l'll be leaving from Portland around 11pm-Midnight 5/24 (Thursday, night before and am more than happy to pick you up and carpool) and plan on starting on the trail from Timberline around 1am. I'm relatively new to ski mountaineering, with two seasons under my belt, but Ive done St Helens, Broken Top and Mt Washington before. Mt Hood is my current white whale. I've gone up to Hogsback twice but have turned back due to lame conditions one time and equipment failure another. Looking for a buddy to try and summit this thing for real this time!
