  1. Hey, on the off chance there's anyone still using first generation Quarks (or the Ergo Quarks) and needs new picks - you know that none of the Petzl tools use the same pick and that the original (Cascade) picks are all but unavailable anywhere. Well with a bit of work (one hole to drill and 2 minutes with a hacksaw) you can fit CAMP Awax picks to the Quark. They are a perfect match for pick length and angle and, being a smaller cross section, they penetrate ice "like buttah". I removed the hammer from my Quark, and don't miss it, but if you're a machinist I imagine you could mill out the Awax pick to allow the hammer/adze to stay in place. Best part - the Awax picks are still in stock at CAMP/Cassin and are selling for $15. At that price how can you not give it a try?
  2. Pickup in Portland preferred, otherwise can ship for cost. Petzl Aztarex - hammer and adze pair with BD leashes and shafts wrapped with grip tape. Petzl Blue Ice picks are sharp. Great tools and lots of life left. I picked them up used years ago but need something with a real spike. Trade for pair of Petzl Sum'tecs, otherwise $250 for the set.
  3. For Sale: Pair of Petzl Nomic, $300. Buyer pays shipping. Tools have been used for 2 days of climbing (10 pitches) and in great shape. Photos: attached.
  4. I have a like-new Petzl Quark with the Hammer (removable) I bought for parts but no longer need. The pick is perfect without any nicks and the shaft still has the factory glittery shine to the metal. I'd like to get $160 + 20 shipping. Local San Francisco area people can save on shipping and arrange a local swap. I've got Venmo and PayPal; other payment methods may be amenable. Reach out to me via PM.
  5. SOLD, SORRY FOLKS I've got a pair of Nomics that I never really used much and won't be using for the foreseeable future – I'd like to get them a new home. They're in great shape – Ice picks have been filed only a little (see the silver on pictures #3 and #5, in particular), the shafts have only a few surface nicks, and the bottom grip/spike area is in fantastic shape. I'll ship these with the rubber tips that come new with them from Petzl and the tools to swap out the picks or fit a hammer onto the head. Price is $330 + $20 shipping for the pair. Local San Francisco/Oakland area people can save on the shipping and arrange a local swap. I've got Venmo and PayPal. Other payment methods may be amenable. Contact me via PM. SOLD, SORRY FOLKS
  6. Grivel Taakoon ice tools for sale. One with an adze and the other with a hammer. Good condition, used sparingly. Picks are still quite sharp. Masking $150 for both. Retailed for $500.
  7. Two (pair, 2x) New in Plastic Petzl Nomic Ice Tools. Never Used, tags hanging. $299 asking $SOLD Petzl Description: Ergonomic over-molded handle offers multiple grip options. Handle length is adjustable to fit different hand and glove sizes. Specific shape of the shaft and the handle limit the risk of pick shift when switching hands Fully modular head for adapting the ice axe to the activity and context: - equipped with MASSELOTTES pick weights, the NOMIC ensures precise, efficient purchase in the ice - without the MASSELOTTES pick weights, the NOMIC becomes considerably lighter for dry tooling - equipped with a MARTEAU (optional), the NOMIC can be used to place pitons Interchangeable ICE pick is tapered at the tip (3 mm) for easy penetration, even in cold ice. Its shape allows stable hooking on both ice and rock. GRIPTAPE on the upper handle provides better grip and thermal insulation Serrated blade under the GRIPREST for better hold coming out of steep sections in hard snow or ice Specifications Pick type: 2 Shaft type: 2 Certification(s): CE, UIAA Ice axe sold with ICE pick, MASSELOTTES and GRIPREST References U21 3 Weight 605 g
