  10. I have been looking for quark pick weights as well. These are harder to find then I thought.
  11. What? Your harness came with a fortune cookie? Kinda a better idea to prosper from real suffering, or maybe just survive it, than from saving a few grams. oh i see... your a veteran. Spending more time online than in the trenches? What I mean is...comfortability is great but learn how to make due with what you have until you find the perfect harness. Try many, but go out and have fun and stop being consumed by marketing hype and a bunch of straight up whining. Which is what I see a lot of going on around here. Clever fortune cookie comment but thats all you have. Don't forget your 1000 essentials toughguy! I happen to agree with keenwash as well.
  12. Ready to climb Thursdays/Fridays as these are my days off. Anyone?
  13. I have climbed using many different harnesses but my personal favorite is the Black Diamond Aspect. Its very light, comfortable, and streamlined with plenty of room. I think that people get caught up in bells and whistles along with marketing hype so don't over think it. You should try on every harness possible and see what works for you. I have spent more time hanging in minimalist harnesses (BD couloir/Bod) than I would like to admit and felt just fine. Comfortability and function is key, but remember...if you are not suffering at some point during your journey, your personal growth and accomplishment is probably just as flat as the valley below.
  14. I would to join up with you on this. Im always looking to beef up any skills possible and have a lot of fun doing so:)
  15. do you still have these screws? if so i will take them.
  16. Looking for some partners to tie up with Thursdays and Fridays. I am itching to get out and slay some WI/Mixed, whatever. Share your ideas and we could plan a mission. Hope to get out ASAP.
  17. I'm down for this fri. Let me know when, where, and gear info and I will get back to you
  18. I did the approach to chair peak on Sunday Dec. 30th. Started through the TH on the southeast side of the valley just across the alpental ski resort at 0745. After starting down the trail with snowshoes the snow was sugar, very loose and very deep. I knew I had to rock because the upcoming slopes would be questionable by 0900. Sure enough at 0830 trees were sluffing their weight and things were getting warm very quickly. Once I made my way to 5600 ft just below the end of the small ridge, the North Face of Chair Peak was just out of reach. The slopes were going off in places and Chair Peak was not granting passage. The descent to the valley on the west side was no fun and im glad that I left when I did. Fellow Ice climbers by the cliffs were reporting crappy ice conditions. I also heard that a guy was buried chest deep in a small avalanche on the east side of the valley around 0900 (where I approached in the morning). Glad to hear that he was ok. Scary stuff! Super beautiful day though:) So.... Ice is not in yet, hollow and frail...give it a couple of weeks. The NF of Chair Peak should be solid in a month or so. The snow out there is still unstable and will probably stay that way for awhile if the weather persists. Heads Up Peeps!!!! Always check http://www.nwac.us/ before setting out on your mission. These guys know what they are talking about but still analyze the snow while you are out there and think for yourselves. Make sharp decisions! See you guys out there in a couple of weeks
  19. Do you have any of these items left?
  20. I love climbing out there. Climbing chair peak, new york gulley, and possibly pineapple express are some of my goals this year. I would really love to attempt triple couloirs this winter as well. Let me know when you are interested to go out.
