I made my set-up using NRS boating straps. They are adjustable and strong enough to get the job done. They are not super cheap, but they work well and if you are a boater you might already have them laying around.

Not many still use the M-14 except for DNC and DM stuff. Now being able to field strip an M-16 (or M-4); THAT is something that I can get behind replacing the Pledge in the AM in schools.

I was involved in a winterish (May) climb of cadaver gap when a partner took a pretty gnarly fall into a crevasse at the top of the gap. Long story short, even being simply capable was not enough. But eff it; your beer drinking time is way more precious than t-ball practice for your partner's kids; right?
I'm not really sure what you're saying; how do beer drinking or t-ball practice fit in?
Anyway, if it were me, I'd be pretty embarrassed to ever say anything like this:
The comparison is that you are spending your free time fucking off rather than ensuring you can take care of your partners; enabling them to attend their kids' t-ball games....

So let me get this straight, while in uniform, you walked up to some guy and insulted him and then got punched in the face and now you are surprised/upset about this?
Call me crazy, but if someone walks up to me and insults me I'm probably going to punch them in the face too. Would you walk up to a group of Black Panther's and call them bigots and racists too? I'm a big advocate of play stupid games and win stupid prizes.

I get hit in the face alot. My wife is a hothead southerner and I do BJJ and Krav Maga alot for work. I can handle myself; certainly against someone who is almost as physically repugnant due to inactivity as he is morally.
The interesting thing is, I don't care what it helped. If anything, I was the only one truly using my 1st amendment rights while he was simply trying to be a tyrant. He was the one who lost, both the moral edge he was trying to accomplish as well as the one of physical superiority.
$20 says he was chanting "shut up and sing!" a faw years back and now he is arguing for quite the opposite. Wherever you sit on the whole gay marriage thing, one has to admit that it is not freedom of speech or religious expression which are being tested, but rather how much callous rabble rousing will be tolerated by the bastardization of the 1st amendment.
One bigot found out the hard way. May they all meet similar fates....

I have never been the atheist apologist, but I find it pretty hard not to condemn some of these evangelical/ new borns with borderline hate crimes. They blithely cite 1st amendment rights as their rationale when it is blatantly clear that this is simply an excuse to practice bigotry and hatred out in the open without the stigma.
The fact that a guy was willing to deck a guy who had 4 inches and 40 lbs on him was testament to how angry someone else's love life can make these people. Because of this, I find it impossible to believe that this is simply a 1st amendment issue rather than one of hate.
Using the 1st amendment to spread hate makes these people on par with the KKK and waters down the meaning of the fight. I may not fall on the far side of the spectrum where I hate all Christians like some here, but I will say that the things I am witnessing are making me sick. I had a good long bike ride today and thought alot about what happened.
My instincts are to just beat that guy all to hell; but it seemed at the time that hitting that guy with the WWJD would hurt more than putting him in the hospital...but these people are so brainwashed and angry, it is hard to believe that what I said even sunk in to anyone but me and my co-workers.

No, I talked to a couple of people. The video did not make it, because it it was about female riders. Yes, it's hard to cater a story line to a 15 year old, who thinks cartoons are great. I opened a couple of issues of "Dirt" mag- it's way worst then climbing press of the 80's. There is one picture of a woman riding. Not a single picture of a woman in any of the hundreds of adds. Maybe nascar or dirt bike scene are only few sports more sexist then DH biking. Watched 2 women doing Crabapple hits in Whistler, along with the guys, one of the m busting table tops equal to any guy out there. Do you even hear about it? it's a bro-bra industry, kind of stupid nevertheless if you limit your customer base to 45% of the population.
No, it's not the point of my rant. The point is, that any activity where a fat fuck can do ok is not a real sport. Yes, aid climbing is not a sport either- same principle.
I can tell you this is the case around here. DH'ers here tend to be young rich kid pissants with a penchant for misogyny.

I beg to differ. Robots aren't worth a shit. Drones are only as good as the location you can give them (based on boots on teh ground). Technology really doesn't help out a whole helluva lot. You would be surprised. I find most of the shit they make me carry is a hindrance...
