  1. I'll think up a good excuse for not getting them done. I have a list of those too. Logistics are going to be a problem. We will not be getting into Camp 4 until late Thurs. So we will have to wait until the morning to get registered. So Friday I was planning on getting my partner ready for some friction slab climbing(Yosemite friction slab, which resembles a finished marble top table). He will need it on the 5.7 friction traverse on Snake Dike. So I was planning on the Grack Center. That will be good since that is the parking lot we will be parking at to get on the trail to do Snake Dike. We are planning on being on the Trail at 3:00 am. Sat. Maybe we can beat the rush on Snake Dike and not have to hike down in the dark. Plaidman

  4. By the way I have figured out how to tie in with a kilt on.
  5. You don't call it a skirt. The reason you don't call it a skirt is that if you do I will have to kilt you. KILT. Not skirt. And I will have fun. I am so amped now I want to jump in the car right now. Can't sleep. Plaidman

  12. that there is purty That is the 8th or 9th pitch on Liberty Cap in Yosemite. Liberty Cap - Southwest Face
  13. Specialized Equipment for the Valley We are taking Ricks van to the Valley. So why not take a wheel barrow to make it easy moving into Camp 4. We can do it in style. And bring crap that we won't even use. I don't want to burn any extra energy. I am going to save it for getting torn up on the wide cracks. Plaidman
  14. Ivan just come with us. I't show you where it is.
  15. I have done the Dike before. The plan we have is to start at 4:00 am and take the short cut between Liberty Cap and Broderick. We will stash water and treking poles off the trail there and then head up the short cut. Then on the decent of the cables we will have gloves and loop webbing around the cable. Last time I used a prusik. I think that was a little much. But we were tired and wanted to get down safely. Plaidman
  16. Wide Valley Stuff:
  17. Super amped for the trip to the Valley. Weather is shaping up. Yosemite - Weather - NOAA My buddie is buying the gas. We are taking his new van so one of us can sleep on the way down. I have the list of wide routes. I have the wide Gear. I have the plan to get Snake Dike done. Now it is just getting to sleep that will be a problem. Leaving on Thursday morning. I will be there for just 4 days. That will have to do for this season. Plaidman

  20. ... with the bagpipes and a caber on your rack! Might be easier to just bring Ivan along... He can sing loud enough to scare everyone out of the valley! I don't think I can afford to feed him or supply him with enough beer.
  21. Do you think I have enough Wide Gear? Here is the list of routes: Entrance Exam MidTerm English Breakfast Crack Generator Crack Schacher Cracker Moby Dick Ahab Doggie Do
  22. WORD!! WORD!!! You are brilliant. A master I would say. I just love Tri-cams. They require you to use you head. And in the right place they are bomb proof X10.
  23. I have not marked mine because no one else uses them. So they never get mixed up with anyone else's gear. Plaidman
  24. Thanks Will. That was the kind of info I was looking for. I want to be solid with the test pieces on this trip before I fire off on the SS. My plan do the test pieces. Come back with the info on what I need to work on during the winter and then hit it next season after doing something on El Cap. We will see. Plaidman
  25. It's on the list. If I do everything on my list I am going to be wreaked. I may end up going through a few belay slaves. Plaidman
