Hi folks just looking for some ideas here. Had planned on going to Muir snowfield this weekend but it's looking stormy so I'd like to find something with minimal exposure (avy and wind) thanks
Just an update - my flicklock did NOT fail, it was user error.
It got loose and when I tightened it, I neglected to align it correct with the little gap machined in the pole, so it wasn't gripping well. Thanks to Issq REI for pointing this out.
I haven't tried a ton of them, but my suggestion is to match what your activity will be. I'm a powderhound, so went with a ski for that, K2 Baker.
It also does fine in the other stuff.
Looking for anyone who has transportation and wants to go ride. My buddy who was going to go is bailing, and my car is in the shop.
The conditions should be good

Don't worry - this won't get you fired (other than casting doubts on your "sick days")

Sounds like it will be worth driving over the bridge for, thanks!
