By making that your stated goal, then doing various stupid things like trashing the nest, Owl decoys, breaking the closure, etc. It fucks you just to have that as starting point in dealing with the issue. It's ignorantly self-centered and self-serving in the extreme and that's not lost on anyone involved trying to rationally deal with the issue. we are all ignorantly self centered just by living and breathing on this planet, u don't gt a special merit badge for acting like u care about a few birds that live on a hill you frequent. if you really cared you'd join the "peoples temple" and go TAKE THE HIGH VOLTAGE KOOLAIDE ACID TEST... and leave the A N I M A L S to their devices. go walk granny across the street and quit acting like you're something you are not . speaking of ignorantly self centred arent you the elitist prick who just wants it all to yourself like back when you used to top rope roofs with helen keller that blind little feller. Yep, I'd much prefer to have it all to myself people-wise. Elitist? I wouldn't want to give elitists a bad name and I don't care for them either. L E A V I N G T H E A N I M A L S T O T H E I R D E V I C E S is exactly what this is all about and something Kevin isn't really remotely interested in. giving the rock to the birds all year around would be the least self centered thing to do... those birds are not happy when you guy's show up after the closure to climb. my suggestion is to climb on the north and west face only, there are plenty of routes to be done over there. you guy's are complete and utter assholes for making those birds feel so uncomfortable after the nesting season. shame on all of you. if jh really cared about the birds he wouldn't push for an early opening he would be more than happy to give the birds an extra few weeks and lots of room to breath. just my humble unwanted opinion

persuading the birds to leave peacefully is roughly equivalent to persuading the injuns to leave manhatten peacefully the birds were there first rightly or wrongly, 99% of the population gives more of a fuck about them than climbers fuck w/ the birds, even "peacefully" and you anger the Heathen Horde - then they instruct the Man to shove his turgid member up the peple who do actually climb at beaocn more than once a year's asses the rangers will have a job anyway, as i'm pretty sure they do more than tuck the falcons into their nests each night let's get a bunch more routes on the n side (they'll need to have some aid components as it's usually pretty wet) and it won't be such a big deal LET'S.....

In the real world of work, people who never play hooky are valuable employees. I've missed about 2 days in 7 years at this job. I'm proud of the fact that I don't play hooky, and I don't get sick...knock on wood. My students know they can depend on Professor Webster to be there everyday, on time, prepared to work. When it dumps 10 inches of powder...I still come to work. If that bothers you, I'm sorry. I have a strong work ethic, and it has kept me fully employed for 38 years with a variety of employers. Yes, I've missed out on a lot of fun...but the benefits are a paid off house, car and credits cards. I also get 7 weeks off, paid. When we try to hire teachers, most of them don't work out because they do not have a strong work ethic. They skip out and let our clients (the students) down. All employers need reliable employees, not flakes. I do agree that working weekends so you can save money and retire early is not good. You have to climb when you are still relatively young and healthy. I have always envied people who take vast amounts of time off, or play the system to get their climbing and leisure paid for by uncle sam. However, I can't bring myself to do it. I think it's cheating, and not carrying your weight. An honest days work, for an honest days pay makes me feel good, and look forward to the weekend.

Are you, or is anyone else, particularly interested? I'd be happy to. I quit doing a Beacon Update thread by popular demand. Saw the Peregrines two of the three days I was out last week, but wasn't monitoring then. I'd normally start monitoring around the third week of February but this winter has been pretty warm so will probably start this weekend. i'd be interested in knowing and learning from your monitoring... this would be different than the Beacon Update Thread cause it wouldn't be so O.D....
-
so jh, why don't u post ur monitoring sessions on here like the beacon update thread? that shit is public domain right?
-
let me gurgle it....
-
Quite the reverse - "We don’t want the birds to nest at Beacon" - it's you who's just let your true colors shine. Climbers or Peregrines? Way to make that decision easy, dude. And hey, we don't need no stinking Salmon in the river, neither - plenty of damn rivers around. i didnt know they closed the river when salmon are nesting?

euro is the only way....

i think everyone here would agree with that statement....

drill a small pilot hole and then hook it with a bat hook, then drill your bolt hole right above your pilot hole so you can cover it up with your bolt hangar. i've seen this done in cochise stronghold by some pretty ethical climbers.

better than bragging about how much you dead lifted

cool... give me a heads up. not as easy as kit used to b to blow off work.
-
No, they don't - I'm just business to them, but I am the only member of the flea circus that actually communicates with them on any regular basis and they work with that as it's the only steady interaction they have with any climbers. josph, you have a way with words but not with people....

the pics were great, but we'd rather bitch than climb.
