What are some suggestions as far as routes atleast up to paradise? Were a couple a pretty fit fellows, just to get that outa the way... Also just to be 100% sure no hiking is alowed up the main roads, backtrails only? Its just we'd like to atleast make it to paradise, its been so long. Plus i think this hike would help us better appriciate the roads that were lost.(not that we don't already do) -
So I was reading through Mikes personal Rainier blog and it appears that we're able to still hike up there, is that true? I'd love to finaly see Muir again. its been so long... ~peace~

Just seeing how you all go about rescueing. links, personal uploaded diagrams, or a simple (or complex) explination... Feel free to leave any of your techniques. I'd love to see 'em.

Nisqually to Longmire & Paradise, Road washed out!
aussie69 replied to tytyler's topic in Mount Rainier NP
A train would be a great tourist attraction. THTATS WHY THEY HAVE IT IN ELBE! but as far as practicality to paradise. no. it would be way more wasteful then just having a road. say only one family ends up going to paradis in one day. why run a whole train when a car is more efficant?it just doesnt work... An no it wont all go to crap due to local goverment restrictions. our local mayor keeps strict restraints on businessess that can come in. also the zoning keeps large home developments out. so dont worry unless the world goes to shits (which one day i'm sure it will) we'll be fine... Id have to say Mt. rainier staff does a fine job keeping the mt. in tip top shape. And if you'd notice the road work is done with the enviorment in mind. all the plants that are removed are relocated. Nothing here goes to waist. With roads going threw the mt.'s familys are allowed to travel through. thus allowing that family's children to see the majeisty of the place. And perhaps this could inspire that child to make a diffrence. If you look at it in a way of insperation these roads allow people of all back grounds to view something that in other cases they might have never seen before! if just one kid is inspired by their drive through the mountain isnt that worth it? to me it is. mi amigo, the roads through the mountains are not only a convienece to drivers but also an insperation to todays youth that is poisened by video games and tv. let them see what the world realy is made of peace, tranquility, and awe inspiring beauty. ~peace and love~ -

Letting the Mt. return to its natural state would be great! but imagine how much business the local area would lose. Also this Mt. provides many abroad a learning experience in how to maintain and help keep other Mt.s preserved. All in all if they didnt rebuild its not only the climbing community that would be affected but also my community. And in a sense, the world in one way or another... So i say REBUILD!!! and if they need volunteer help drop me a line. -
most deffinatly! hey if Rainier NPS needs trail work hit me up! i'd love to donate my time to the place i call home. I've got some experience from working at pack forest

whats the address? any age and or skill limitations?
-
Realy? that sucks... I'm prety sure its not DNR land tho. The local rock quary said they own it. My friend and I have really been researching this wall. We've checked with all the local companies that might be affiliated with it (ex. rock quarry, gun club, ect. ect.). do you work for them?
-
DMR land what do you mean?
-
hahaha. thats a good name! but i was thinking of naming the wall senior Greeko. for no real reason just like the name...maybe we'll give it a long confusing name like... Senior Greeko De Jenga la Jeasus numero uno??? darn you now i wanna name it jenga...

Its sweet because of the ride back to it, its seclusioness, and the fact that with some work it'll be perfectly climbable. I'll post some better photos once i develope them. And nope! its actualy slitely visable from the town. If you know where the gun club is look behind that.
-
well all your guessess of location would be wrong! any one here familiar with the little town of Eatonville? Its very hidden. and with out local knowledge quite difficult to get back to.
-
Thanks much it was some very helpful info. I doubt other humans will be much of a hazard. This spot is so tucked away! I love it. Basicly my secret spot. Welp I'm gonna have to start work on it ASAP! again thanks all. Wish me luck!

So we found this super sweet rock face but its pretty much rotten. But like i said its super sweet. REAL local and a great training ground for further adventures. people have climbed it be for. I'm just wondering what all you r opinions on this are. just scrape of the bad stuff an go? or what...

It takes alot to cause snow blindness. My girlfriend and I went up in august with no eye protection. (just to muir and back) grant it we looked stoned as all hell but vision was not affected.
