  1. Do NE butr. of higher cathedral. it's the "best grade IV in the valley" gear to 3" old skool 5.9ish.
  2. oops, got busy taking care of mundane stuff around the house and didn't get a chance to get away. I'll probably go to beacon tomorrow for some soloing...
  3. who wants to go climbing? I'm up for whatever: running laps on TR, cleaning, leading...hell, I'll even sport climb.
  4. I was/still am known as nomad but since I wasn't able to log in under that name for a while I signed up for this one. Anyway, OMB is right about that heat. Jesus christ it was hot up there, and without even the slightest breeze. I got so dehydrated I didnt have to piss for two whole days. Come to think about it, after the first day I didn't even sweat that much! The route was pretty cool, but since it was the first time I've stood in aiders in over a year I was moving kinda slow; we started climbing around 2pm on tuesday and got back to the ground around 6 on weds.
  5. I climb 9s/10s and a bit harder on tr. who wants to go?
  6. (edit) sorry, something's come up...next week sometime?
  7. Hey bill, how about friday? I think we climbed together once last fall or so at rocky butte. back then I was posting as Nomad (haven't been able to log on under that name for some reason).
  8. Yeah, even from the west, hwy 20 is pretty low traffic after sedro woolly or rockport... and the descent is kick ass!
  9. Climb: Washington Pass-Hwy 20 Date of Climb: 6/15/2005 Trip Report: So the plan was to bike from Mt. Vernon to Washington pass and climb the slacker routes up S. Early winter and Liberty Bell... Like many a good plan this one required a big dose of overconfidence blended with blissfull ignorace. Anyway, by the time we'd climbed the 5000+ ft of elevation on the hwy (and running out of water) then a grand or so up the trail to the base of Early winter, I was so wasted and out of motivation I just sat there gazing at the gathering clouds and sinking sun. Fortunarly, my girlfriend and partner for this particular misadventure had brought along the pain meds, and after a smoke we were revived enough to bike back down to marblemount. The cycling was truly amazing, and if we had one more day and more food we coulda actually climbed something too. Gear Notes: shoulda brought liquor Approach Notes: bike up the road & get ready to suffer from colonial creek to WA pass
