  1. Hey whats up?

Looking for some folks to climb during the middle of the week. Have alot of free time. Lead trad up to 5.7-5.8 sport to 5.10a. Have glacier experience as well. Looking for other LAID BACK climbing partners. NO ELITEST. Got car, modest rack, I'm in my mid 20s. drop me a pm

I'd be intersted in climbing Garbaldi(east face), maybe go to Index(do some easy stuff), leavenworth, WA pass. Heck even X38.

  2. shitty... went to one of his presentations last year and exchanged a few emails. Gotta be impressed by the balls and athleticism but i could never reconcile it with his responsibilities as a father for reasons that are all to obvious now. Very sad.

Yup I am impressed. But really if your a husband and father how can you justify such actions? Seems reckless to me.

  3. I'm turning 23 this weekend and really would love to celebrate by heading up to Washington Pass for some low key alpine climbing. My partner is out of town so I'm looking for someone who is interested in climbing the Beckey route on Liberty Bell, and maybe another multipitch as well if we have the time. You must have the gear to lead it because I don't, but we can use my ropes and I am fine with sharing leads.

I am a relatively new climber, but have quickly become obsessed with the sport. Can follow to 5.10b, just starting to lead trad and not too comfortable beyond the easiest stuff. Just looking to have fun, hopefully meet new partners who have a similar outlook on climbing. NOT looking for a new boyfriend, but would be excited to meet either men or women. Let me know your background etc and maybe we can head up to WA Pass this weekend!

check your pm, I got the whole week off.

  4. I'm actually free right now. Just gotta be back in Seattle by 5. send me a pm. By the way there is no easy stuff really to practice trad at x38. Unless you want to go out of your way. How about index?

  5. For someone quite new to mountaineering and wanting to tackle Wedge via NorthEast arete, what technical gear should I bring. The obvious I know are crampons, rope and ice axe.

    TIA

I think the steepest sections are maybe 55 degrees? Some of the faces are quite steep, but u should be fine!

  6. Only if you call tacoma 'south seattle'.

they did put up an outdoor wall in a city park in Kent!

Yup I been going to the wall in Kent, its alright. Actually a guy climbed up and got stuck at the top. The kent fire dept. had to be called out to get him down.

Anyone else here ever go to the kent wall? Mostly just a bunch of gumbys go.

  7. Hey,

I know I will not be able to make it out there for a July trip. I will be heading out on a road trip from South Carolina beginning August 2nd. Do not let the reference of the state deter you in my mountaineering ways. I am wanting to climb Mt. Rainier when I get out there probably the first week of August and would rather not do it alone. I do not have glacier experience, but I am in terrific shape and have countless backpacking trips behind me. I am persistent and of sound mind. I was curious if I could possibly meet up with an experienced climber when I get out there and you can show me to the summit via the DC route. I will have crampons and ice picks by the time I get there. Let me know how you feel about this situation.

Ill take you if you give me 300 bucks

  8. For all the information you could possible want about commute patterns in the US, see this report:

    Commuting in the United States

    Some key facts:

    1. The dominant type of commute is now suburb-to-suburb, and this is also the fastest growing type of commute.

    2. The only three commute modes which experienced an actual decline in number of commuters in the period between 1990 and 2000 were motorcycle, walking, and transit.

    3. The percent of commuters who drove alone to work rose from 73% to 76% in the 90's. The only other mode with any significant growth in share was Work at Home (3% to 3.3%).

    Key Fact:

The one thing those cunts in the suburbs complain about most is sitting in traffic.

People in Seattle are so full of themselves their will never be a decent transportation option here! I swear no one in this crap town can get anything done. They rather talk for 20 years while our infrastructure goes to he@#$!

  9. Im thinking possibly middle of july? I heard there is a bergschund at the top that can be impassable sometimes. The pics don't look to bad though.

I am suprised more people have not done it recently. Gas must be getting expensive

  10. Check out the TR for the Adams North Ridge (with the pissed off looking red face) it has some good pictures of the Adams Glacier, and a post at the end with more recent photos.

I looked at those phots, it would be nice though to hear from someone who has been up there lately on the route. Im suprised there are not more TRs on it right now.
