we 5 are vegitarians and stick to whole wheet and honey/ non sugar items. Yes the kids complain from time to time. I will bring a large camp stove, gridle and 3 qt dutch oven. easy camp favs are slpoy joes, spagiti ( we could each do our own sauce) hobo stew. I vote for hobo stew sat night. every one bring what you like and enough to share and we can make stew in the fire. Does any one have games they want to bring?

the details for thousand trails are. I can have 2 familys (7 more persons) in my site for a charge of 5$ per car per night. I can reserve a second camp site (3 tents 10 persons max) for $35 per night including 1 car $5 per aditional car per night. If there is more intrest I can ask for more sites at the same fees. The place is nice. there is a pool and play ground family center w tv etc. They have a web page if you wnat to check it out. There is always the "Free spot" in the canyon.

levenworth aug 23rd is my vote. Cheeper to get to by 50$ for me. I have a membership at Thousand trails and they have a preserve a few miles form the canyon out side of levenworth. I can book a spot and others can join me for a fee. I will find out the cost. I like the idea of barnies bolder because we can set up a bunch of climbs and then let the kids climb as they wish and maby the adults as well. My kids 3 5 and 11 climb a little run and play a lot and then climb some more. They climb better when there are other kids around to challange them. They also like to play with other kids. I have never been to squamish but I will come if that s the choice. I will be leaving fridy night from Bellevue and will tow a small trailer. Ican help to carry gear if any one needs it. I have a large camp stove a griddle dutch ovens and a 10 x 10 easy up. Do we want to plan camp items so every one has to bring less? Do we want to do a pot luck or plan a meal or 2?

AUG 23 in levenworth sounds good to me. My advice is to have somone at bruce bolder and b rubble very early to lay clame to them. Featherd friends does a rock event there and they may be able to tell how to reserve the areas. The groups I wnet with took them by force by arriving very early and setting up ropes. I will know later if I can help w this. The forest service has a group spot down the road and that could be reserved as well.
  10. The kid stores (babys r us) and the like have them. we had one that was maby 10 lbs. My 2 cents is to buy a co sleeper a plastic box with one end open an a soft linner so thast you do not worry about rolling onto your baby and spend some time at home transiioning your son to sleep with you in it. much smaller lighter and will let you sleep with jr.
  11. Yea I free soloed Yak when I was 12. Just kidding. I got caught up in the sprit of the thred. Youngets or not it is realy cool that you ( Marc) are out doing these climbs in the fist place. I mostly free solo my couch. Peter

My vote is for levenworth however I will try to attend with my brood at eather leven worth or squamish. Mt erie is nice and prety but where I have climed is not as safe on the ledge as levenworth and I like how even a medium size group can take over barny and bruce. The parking is good and the shaded area at barnys rubble (I remember) would be a good rest and cooking area and the group camp is just down the road. As for gear I have a 10 x 10 easy up and a big 3 burner propane camp stove with griddle I could bring Peter
  13. I have made a plywood wall. I am looking for pointers on how to make a sculpted ruff surface like Vertical Worlds walls.

  17. We are getting the kids (3,5,10) out for hikes most weekends. City kids love the woods so much it is wonderful to see. I am taking my 5yr old son out this summer. I am looking for places to go. Near to home would be nice. (98006) My son struggles on the rocks at Marymore in Redmond but flies up the wall at Vertical World. Suggestions?

  21. I have been given a HB Wales locking carabiner. It has been shelved its whole life. I was showing the kids how to assend and noticed that with my weight (155) on it the gate pin catches the hook. It does not have any issues when un loaded. Do I toss it?
