  1. Which, for a record, I don't agree that that is the root cause of the problem. So the problem was caused by the economy shitting itself and staying that way due to deregulation, tax-holidays, offshoring, wage stagnation, and excessive credit, etc, etc. BUT the problem is not going to get solved by looking into any of that shit, it's going to get solved by cutting the wages of bus drivers. OKEY-DOKEY!
  2. And yet you choose to live here anyways. Dumbass. I wasn't saying this was a bad thing...
  3. poor dear, such a difficult choice and he ended up supporting his country, awww. Moron. Unlike you who shits on it daily. This country is a feces-smeared S+M performance piece played for degenerates in a seedy back street of Xenu's alien megalopolis.
  4. The funny thing is that "shock and awe" didn't do nearly as much long-term damage as the economic shock therapy instituted by the Coalitional Provisional Authority and Paul Bremer did. While Grover Norquist and other neoliberals were back here licking their lips at the prospect of finally creating a free market utopia from scratch, the policies they were instituting were creating the insurgencies overnight. Whoops...
  5. Not ironic if it's the same people doing it...

  7. Overpaid cops = Less corruption How's that for a built-in contradiction?
  8. Yes, uncritically accepting the ahistorical, asinine cause-and-effect relationship Jay_B is peddling here to further his ongoing project (in good times and bad) is way too simple.

  12. Can't make any money off them. Witness the vast swaths of American sprawl in conservatard strongholds like Atlanta and Phoenix where pedestrians have carved canyons with their feet when stripmall developers and their politicians have refused to build them.
  13. Jay's more likely to be found at the Hilton giving talks to corporate weasels like himself on how they can take advantage of the budgetary crises created by the economic downturn to pick up public assets for a song and gouge taxpayers turned "customers". I wish! In reality I'm far more likely to be found crashing in the back of my truck in Walmart parking lots. You wish? Well brother, I recommend checking out "Making Sociopathy Work For You" from your local library. Cash in on your antisocial tendencies and repressed fears!
  14. On the road giving lectures to management on union-busting?
  15. Ick. The less I know the better.

  17. Yeah, probably that the citizens of Seattle don't want to get ripped off by the likes of the Carlyle Group to the tune of a few billion dollars! But hey, when isn't it a good time to take a backhanded stab at longshoremen, you P.O.S.?
  18. Might want to try something a little more recent. Damn, you're a slimy motherfucker!
  19. Highest bidder? I think you mean lowest. We only turn vital services over to whoever is the cheapest. According to Comrade Prole, the interstate highway system is useless anyways. Link.
  20. Speaking of hiring people to dig and fill useless holes in the ground, what good did that thing ever do us?
  21. And the rest of us are amazed he wasn't approached with a Transportation Secretary post by the McCain campaign.

You will probably run afoul of the corporate health-"care" and pharma lobbyists, though.
