  1. I'm glad to here someone has ponied up, and gone for it in the winter, though.
  2. agreed, certainly other big FAs to be had at much less of a cost, mentally and physically. If it weren't for it's "evilness" (read fascination in the minds of those who enjoy a bit of suffering for a little-climbed line) and place in literary history, it probably wouldn't get much attention at all.
  3. whoa! that'll do it.
  4. Not me, but an "actual" hardman could probably figure something out. They're a daytrip in the summer, but is that the deal--they're just to damn far with the closed roads? Even from the Canuck side?
  5. I'm sure other winter alpiners have daydreamed, at least once, over this, but what's the winter history of Hozomeen's S and N peaks--specifically N peak's W face (zorro) and S peak's N face? Access? Attempts? Ascents? The Scurlock photos are just downright fancy...who can share somethin about these???
  6. That's a great picture--"the slab" obviously holds a ton of snow. I can ALMOST imagine a better time being had on the steeper, less done direct stuff right under the summit pyramid. Lotta work to get there this time of year, though, with a "?" as to the quality of climbing...
  7. Anyone have beta on what the NF looks like this time of year? Doable (as in fun)? A slabby death-trap perhaps... -N
  8. I'm up for some Sat-Sun fun, and can drive. I've been thinking a lot about Stuart lately...email me at noahtownsend@gmail.com, or my cell at 206-909-9975. Cheers, N
