  6. do the lithiums work in the cold better? I havent even looked into it. I have had some really frustrating times with my little camera...makes me want to throw it off the mountain when those lights are blinking and the damn thing won't take a photo.

  8. I went up the West Ridge of the S. Twin this last winter on Feb. 11th and 12th. Heres some photos...I believe this one shows the NW face of Skookum that you are talking about. we climbed all of the west ridge, but left our packs at the large N. facing col and snowboarded down it on the way back. rode all the way down to the road, then after a short hike, rode all the way back to the car. Great trip!
  9. I am looking for advice on a good route up rainer for a couple novice's. My partner has been up D.C. once, but there are more mountains in the state that we have climbed together. I have been up D.C. 3 times, once up the emmons, and once up the Kautz Glacier route. I was thinking about the Fuhrer, or either the Kautz or Succes clevers, has anyone seen what kind of shape they are in, or have any advice on what kind of climbing can be encountered? We have the 11th 12th and the 13th, but I would like to only use two days. thanks in advance for the advice.
  10. solo STYLEEEEE cool photos; I believe that is the obelisk
  11. F'n Digital camera's! I have a olympus digital, and it hates the cold...I usually have to take the batteries out and warm them up...but who has time for that when your movin. Congrats on the climb!
  12. would you want to part with just the silveretta's? I am poooor...I had a pair of skis given to me and i need some touring bindings...i have been looking everywhere for some used ones...
  13. I have been up there, and the car ride up is a lot more challenging than the climb (i have beer cans over my catalitic converter from this one)...you can see the summit from where you park your car at the end of the road, just head up the woods until you are on the ridge, then follow the ridge to the summit...class 2
