  3. jesus.....you guys are taking this WAY too seriously. i was being facetious! get over it! damn you don't have to get completely insulted just because there aren't very many teenagers on this site and i was trying to find a few. and really, i didn't actually say anything insulting to any of you. when i said "ripe" that was completely a joke. anyway, i'm probably going to delete this post soon, so you guys don't have to worry about it. and loosen up a little. -james
  4. what's wrong with the small forged friends? i've heard that the stem is wide enough compared to the head that it can actually get jammed in the crack, but does that actually happen that often? -james
  5. i'm on a budget and i've narrowed it down to these three. i know forged friends are good, but it's kind of a pain in the ass to tie them off every time i want to make a horizontal placement. i've heard from several sources that flexcams walk a lot. haven't really heard much about robots, except that they got the editor's choice for best value in rock and ice. thanks! -james

  9. yeah that'll help. everyone just act immature.
  10. yeah, but it's kind of a long drive from bremerton to leavenworth to only climb for one day. any other opinions?
  11. alright well I'm heading to the crags this sunday. my driver doesn't want to go too far, so i have the choice of three different places: 1) exit 32 2) exit 38 3) fossil rock never been to fossil rock, and i've only been to x32 and x38 very little. i've got some beginner climbers with me, so there needs to be a lot of easier climbs (about 5.10b at the most). every opinion helps. please, help me out here! thanks! -james
  12. haha you guys misunderstood me. i climb with older people all the time. i would just like to climb with somebody a little closer in age to me. if i didn't like older people, i would never get a chance to climb, because everyone i climb with is at least 25.
  13. yeah, it seems like most people on this site are umm...lets just say....a little more "ripe". it would be nice to find someone closer to my age (almost 16). there's gotta be somebody. anyone? yeah well PM me if you wanna hook up sometime. i'm in bremerton.
  14. yeah i heard from a friend that it had been developed a lot in the past few years and there are quite a few bolted lines there. he didnt have any real beta though. anyone else have any info?
  15. i hear rumors of a sport crag near the elwah river damn. any info/beta/online guides/directions? anything will be helpful.
  16. Well, i can give you guys the real cause. In the July edition of Rock and Ice there was a very informative short article on it. The man and his partner had a 200 foot rope, with no middle mark on it. They dealt out half of the rope down the cliff, so that it was touching the ground. They figured they could just throw the other half of the rope down and it would be the right length. It was a very windy day at the coulee, and what they didn't notice was that the wind had actually pulled more of the rope through the chains, leaving just 12 feet at one end. The man began his rappel, but the rope quickly shot through his rappel device. He grabbed the end of the rope before it got out of reach, but slipped within seconds. Great apologies to you, and kudos to those who tried to help him.

  24. I'm open for weekend sport climbing until the middle of june. From then on I'm free during the week, too. I have all my own gear, and experience. I live in the bremerton area, and can take the ferry over to seattle, too. I'm comfortable leading about a 5.9 or 10, but I'll do harder stuff also. pm me or post a reply if interested. p.s. I'm also available for memorial day weekend...lets go!!!
