The corporations' involvement was a symptom of the illness, not the root cause of it.

That's exactly the issue. People who believe in marriage as a religious sacrament feel that applying the legal (civil) definition is just a stepping stone. Next the ACLU, gay activists, and the government will try to force churches to change their policies on marriage. Personally, I think it would help to change the name "marriage" to something like "civil union" on the legal/civil side of the equation, keeping it a state's right of course. I think the resistance to the issue would fall away much more quickly if this were done.

They've cut done most of them in the past decade, because (and this is serious), they were killing too many drunk drivers. Somehow, I am not surprised. :-( Perhaps a more enlightened view would be that the trees are serving the purpose of evolutionary processes...

The excesses of the Nazi regime were enabled and fertilized by dehuminization of the German people through years of suffering imposed by war (WWI), and the victors' subsequent treatment of the vanquished (Treaty of Versailles). This analogy based on corporations and corporate power is bogus.

A liberal democrat by the name of Roosevelt did a hell of a lot worse than Bush - and to our own people - Japanese Americans.

Because redistribution of wealth and increased state-control of corporations are central tenets in the political ideology of our friends on the political left. Every time you hear about "working Americans" and "the rich" from a liberal's mouth, just substitude "proletariat" and "bourgeois", respectively, and you'll find the resemblance to the text of the Communist Mafifesto to be uncanny.

Keep drinking that Kool-Aid. No matter what happens in the next four years, Bush will be gone in 2008. We, unlike Nazi Germany or Communist Russian, have a presidential term-limit written in to our constitution, and that will not change.

The depth of utter stupidity from the left never ceases to amaze me, especially in light of their claims of self-professed superior intelligence. I suppose I should not be too surprised, however. The trend has been growing for this type of irrational, hysterical drivel - from the likes of Michael Moore and other liberal mouth-pieces. To compare the United States to a fascist state is not only disingenous, it is a sick, seditious lie, and propaganda of the most disgusting sort. By making this inane, idiotic comparison you diminish the victims of fascism in the last 100 years, and dangerously water down the term so it has less impact when it needs to be appropriately applied to some regime - like Saddam's Iraq, for example. You liberals have lost an election, that's it. In a fascist state, there would not have been an election, or if there were, there would have been on candidate. In a fascist state the opposition is silenced permanently - with a bullet to the head, and an unmarked mass grave. You do not have a clue what fascism is, that fact is obvious. Shame on you.

And just how was the "average" IQ computed, oh purveyor of nonsense? Was every single person in each state given a standardized IQ test? There are indeed three types of lies in this world, lies, damn lies, and statistics. And again, we see the manifestation of the arrogant leftist group-think mind-set: he who is intelligent agrees with me, those who do not, are stupid. Somehow, I see reeducation camps in store if you folks ever seize control of this country again.

You have to be kidding? The irony here is so glaring. The attributes that you assign to Bush, can be so easily ascribed to Kerry. Everything about the man screams arrogance and elitism - his demeanor, attitude, manner of speaking, and lifestyle. And as for stubborness, he has never backed down from his decisions or statements, or admitted to glaring mistakes in his career.

They have on shininig star in Illinois. If Obama manages to avoid spewing out the typical liberal rhetoric (as he has so far), he might be able to build a decent coalition in the future. Of course, Hilary will not be too thrilled by this prospect. :-)
