The news reports are that the perp has military training. As if that's going to do him any good. He can salute while he freezes his ass off. I hope he's scared, cold, and suffering until they run him down and either collar him or shoot him.

If you were going to learn one song, in it's entirety, for the electric guitar, that would make you as close to a "complete" guitar player as possible, what would it be?

I think Boehner's countdown timer just started. I predict resignation by June 1. Any takers?
Well, that would give him more time to maintain his tan...

Thanks...yes.

As long as there are Repulicans, we "libtards" will always have plenty of fodder for ridicule. It's too easy!Sooner or later you libtards are gonna run out of candidates you can use as mirrors to reflect your own self loathing and unfulfilled dreams. Well, maybe not. -
I've been in there twice...'schwacked up from Noisy Creek to Ipsoot Lake both times: not recommended. If I were to go back in there now I'd traverse in from Watson Lakes. I've heard that's the ticket. The area around Green and Berdeen Lakes is a really cool place to visit.

He'll bow out over the weekend. Slow news cycle and all.
Zim Zam called it!
--Now we can get the focus back where it belongs: on that wingnut Michelle Bachman.

I'll take tomorrow: he'll drop from the race by close of business Wednesday 11/30/11.
"You want a job, don't you?"

How long is the hike in there up the Chewack?

Property crime? They won't go to prison. They're probably not even in jail.
They do, however, have to spend the rest of their lives being a couple of big fat losers, which is the worst fate.

Back in the late 80's, the legendary Wilderness District Ranger Bill Lester was hiking down from Cascade Pass. As he approached the trailhead, he took a shortcut through the brush and popped out into the parking lot just in time to discover a couple of Skagit Valley delinquents breaking into cars. He drew his trusty service revolver and took them into custody. Sometimes karma works.

Oh, and for those asking about snow in the couloir: an alternate route is to climb up the rock to the left (west) of the couloir. You would be climbing up the rappel route described in the TR. It's not difficult (low 5th class).

I've never had a problem with the rangers in NCNP. They are professional, courteous, and have historically provided excellent service to the climbing community. Boston Basin is a very popular (frequently crowded) area, and the permit limits keep it from becoming a zoo --preserving some semblance of a wild experience for the visitor.
Nice photos, except for the first one. Next time, wait your turn in the info center and get your permit.

Impressive images. Especially "Triumph/Slesse"!

I have three things to say about this. I love travelling in the mountains with my son, and I know this trip was a joy for your dad. Wilcox Lakes is one of my favorite places in NOCA, and there was a lot less snow when I was through there. And the ski tracks were Jason Hummel and party.

Your panoramic photos are striking. --Especially that first shot at the top of the post.

Awesome to see this father-son activity. As a father of two sons, this pushes all sorts of buttons for me! I salute you for carrying out the badness you found. Major karma and style points for you.

That's a great trip. Well done!

Many of us share, to some extent, the pain this unfortunate tragedy inflicted on one family, and the wider community. While it is fresh in everyone's consciousness, I think, is the time to show our support to Margaret Anderson's husband and children. I have a friend who is a ranger at MORA, and I have an inquiry in to find the local bank to which charitable contributions can be sent. As soon as I have that information, I'll post it here. There seems to be a lot of interest in contributing to such a fund.
