If you sneak into the "Employees only" building in the center of the fish hatchery on the Metolius River, there's a tank full of two-headed and two-tailed fish. At least there was 8 years ago when I last snuck in.
And Dru, my brother caught a fish like that, but with a live crawdad face peeking out.

I felt like shit this morning, I think it's because I gave Layton a bite of my burger. Never again.

There's no sense in getting too mad/offended at what people say just because they're ignorant. My older brother and I have a different biological father than my two younger brothers. We've never considered ourselves "step" brothers, but once somebody said "oh, you're their step brother?" It was really weird for me to hear this, but that's how people think. And indignant correction would've just made me come across as a hothead. A gentle correction just seems much better to me.
On that note, congrats on the new daughter Sobo! My coworker and his wife are at the end of the process and are looking to travel to China this summer sometime to pick up their daughter.
And, my mom was in Vietnam and ran into a French lady who had been in the country for 4 months getting the runaround trying to adopt a child

I'm just popping in here to say that John Frieh rocks for taking total newbs out on ice. He and Doug Hutchinson took me out on the Elliot a few months back, and it looks like he's still taking people out. That combined with drytool/climbing night, he's doing a hell of a lot for getting local climbers strong on ice/mixed

I cope with stress by talking/writing about it. Stress accumulates on itself, I have a decently large base of baggage, and several causes of stress have been intersecting recently.

Skinning up the resort slopes

I skinned up at Meadows a few weeks ago, and asked the lifties about whether or not it was okay. They basically said what plark said. . . you can go where you want on National Forest. That said, it was pretty lame dodging skiers, even skinning in the trees. Skinning up the cinder cone at Bachelor is a lot more fun, and you can get away from the crowds.
