  1. My best job has been selling Amway. Who needs some toilet bowl cleaner? (I am also working in my underwear)
  2. You are the voice of reason this morning. Where the hell were you yesterday when I needed you?

Wow. I used to think *I* was going to be an expert on everything. But that was an idea that flopped.

Hey, did you take yourself out for a beer yesterday?

Is the PM machine still not working? I coudn't even get my quarter back out of the computer...
  7. Yes, they are called crackdealers
  8. It's not fraud if the parents are acting as the "guardian" of the account. We have two accounts set up for our boy Nicholas, and he turned 3 years old last Sunday. We are the "responsible party" for any "debt" that he may incur. Sobo is right. Since a minor cannot legally sign a contract, they could simply incur the debt and then refuse to pay it, so a guardian is required for this. Plus, I had to have a savings account, which I opened with lawn mowing money and other funds held in trust. Bad joke--I was fucking with you. My parents did the same thing for me when I was 14 or 15. I think they were just in a hurry to get me out of the house.
  9. Actually, Sobo is right. And you parents essentially committed fraud.
  10. I get this magazine every month. I have stopped reading it b/c it is mostly full of blow-smoke-up-yer-ass happy horseshit. Not to say you didn't point out a good article--I haven't looked at it. PS I also get the WSJ, Business Week, the Puget Sound Business Journal, and other bus mags that I do think are good--so I am not trying to be a big old sourpuss here.
  11. Wait a minute...why would does this policy suck? Think about it from your business owner point of view (we did start this thread with that view, right?): would YOU want to give money to someone who changed jobs/residences a whole bunch? And don't tell me, sure, if they paid all their debt; because 1. those traits usually do not co-occur, and 2. when they do, the money is sometimes ill-gotten gains (like Daddy has been paying the bills up til now).
  12. That's where those pink rabbit adds keep coming from.
  13. Tears are squeezing out of my eyes. That is funny. Mean, but funny.
  14. Its because you have poor credit.
  15. I'm going to lunch now. I had to teach a class on credit responsibility...
  16. I wish I were there right now. The place is a dive, and a good one at that.
  17. Why are you still here?
  18. I have said exactly this a million + times. Makes me want to volunteer and teach a class. I don't know if kids would be interested though. Economics was one of my very favorite classes in high school (I was lucky and went to a great hs with an intense focus on challenging students). Even so, personal finances were not taught as a part of the curriculum.
  19. Are you talking about their Belgium Cream brew? Really dark, full, but not bitter? That place is great!
  20. One on mine as well, but I had already paid it years earlier, but The Bon still showed it as an unpaid late payment charge. I had contested it because the payment wasn't late at the time it was made years before. I went to The Bon, told the CS agent that it was all BS, showed her my old statements where it had been paid and credited, and they wiped it off the slate. Don't know why their bill processing software didn't do that for them three years earlier... I checked back with the credit reporting agencies to see that it was removed from the "negative" side, and it was. Bummer for you about having to pay yours again. I am glad to hear you were able to resolve yours. I get too many neg stories on this w/o being able to bal it out with sucesses.
  21. Perfect example of the u/o ratio that sobo just mentioned.
  22. Good advice. But if there is anything wrong on a report--good luck. You will have an easier time amputating your own arm with a swiss army knife than rectifying the information. There was an error on mine; I ended up paying a "debt" I didn't know b/c there was no other way on god's green earth to get the error fixed.
