I love animals, wildlife, and the environment. And I hunt. I spend more time explaining hunting to people than time I actually spend hunting. Shooting an animal to save yourself or others is not an action that should have to be defended--you did the right thing.

There is NOTHING more important to me than human rights. This issue may not seem important to you because you have the privilege of being a man and can therefore choose to view this as a relatively unimportant womens issue. It is not. It does, however, feel like a bunch of old men dictating to women what we can and cannot do to control our own destinies. What's next? Removing our choice to vote? To attend college? the best war photographer I have ever seen is james nachtwey. Go look at his stuff and read what he says if you have a moment. There is a documentary about him called "war photographer" that is one of the best I've ever seen. He is one of the most incredible human beings and has decades of first hand experience with this--I cried when I heard him talk.

You are making the mistake of personalizing the discussion. I wasn't talking about your parents, but about a policy. Liberals advocate policies and social agendas while moralizing. Yet, they attack any suggestion from their oppostion (e.g. "tell people what needs to be said") as presumptiveness, "moralizing", "getting on a high horse", and so on. What constitutes "moralizing" and what constitutes good policy is in the eye of the beholder. Now go - happy now? First of all, a "policy" doesn't moralize and talk to people about being tolerant, etc etc; so don't try to back up and pretend like you were refering to an inanimate thing in your post. And second of all,*you* are telling me that I am personalizing the argument? Now THAT'S rich!!!!
