  1. ...Republicans just shot another hole through the hull of USS United States of America in a cynical, purely ideologically driven effort to bust the UAW. Real smart..

Look at the positives.. 20% unemployment, a new depression, the end of the Amerikan Empire.. Da revolution will be televised and we can now look forward to the Socialist Republic of the United States!:moondance:

Good riddance to the republifucks (the very definition of "complete assclowns"!).

  2. I'll report, you decide ..

"But in fact, there were suggestions Tuesday that it was Rahm Emanuel, Obama's designated chief of staff, who pushed prosecutors to move faster on the Blagojevich investigation. Police had been watching him for years.

A Chicago Fox affiliate reports that after Blagojevich approached Emanuel about the Senate seat, Obama's no-nonsense confidant immediately contacted the authorities.

The Obama team, in fact, is reportedly clean due to their refusal to bribe Blagojevich, something that prosecutors say enraged him."

  3. So its a girlz game...

Thats why my daughter is an all star forward on multiple teams.

Real men don't make fun of girls hell LOW!

I know what your thinkin Mr Black Bear, Did he fire 6 shots, or only 5! And this being a .44 magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world and can blow your head clean off, you gotta ask yourself one question. Do I feel lucky? Well, do ya punk?

    Go ahead, make my day..

  5. I was once a sceptic like Tvash. But then I was walking by a building on Capital Hill and saw this!

Skill of Kyong Gong Sul Bope

One of the many personal achievements Grandmaster "Iron" Kim has reached is the Kyong Gong Sul Bope (flying side kick). Pictured above is Grandmaster jumping from the top of a building. A corner of the roof is visible in the lower right corner of the picture. In 1970, Grandmaster "Iron" Kim demonstrated Kyong Gong Sul Bope by jumping from the equivalent of an 11-story building. In 1972 Grandmaster "Iron" Kim again demonstrated the Kyong Gong Sul Bope movement by jumping from the equivalent of an 8-story building, landing without injury on a sloped surface below.

Performing the Kyong Gong Sul Bope movement is a phenomenal feat, but more important is the tremendous internal power and strength that an individual must possess in order to perform Kyong Gong Sul Bope. Our research has shown that only a small number of people have reached a similar level of achievement. Grandmaster "Iron" Kim has maintained the miraculous mental and physical strength needed to execute this movement. Even at an older age, we have no doubt that Grandmaster "Iron" Kim is still capable of precisely demonstrating the Kyong Gong Sul Bope form. He is a living example of the benefits of achieving phenomenal Moo Doe strength. Grandmaster "Iron" Kim has taught some instructors, with the position of National Instructor and higher, the beginning levels of Kyong Gong Sul Bope. They are now capable of jumping and landing from a 2 or 3 story building without injury.

Such feats simply defy physics! And here you have proof!

    Bullshitsu..

Grandmaster "Iron" Kim's school has changed marketing ploys more times than he changes his undies. And that photo is like 30 years old and has been "shopped" over numerous backgrounds.

Koreans are good fighters because they are generally fucking nuts.

Years ago I sparred with a Korean "master" who was about a foot shorter than me. Little fuck could hit HARD! But because I could take a HARD! punch he fell to my "superior" mass :provoke::lmao: - his grappling technique was pretty lame as well.

    Once again physics beats mysticism.

  6. What is a "spiritual person" anyway? How are they contrasted with the rest of us?

The second part of your last post seems driven by anger and an unwillingness to accept democratic principles. Christianity is still the religion of the majority. If you feel it is "in your face" to have these religious displays in a government building then I would submit that you are a scientific fundamentalist.

Dude, how could you see anger in that post? (my god I said baby Jebus was cute!)

Doesn't matter which religion is the majority its the minorities that need protecting from mob rule - Im sure youve heard that.

And yes, science rules, even the Dalai Lama said his "Dharma" (Buddhist teachings) must defer to science because it is empirically based *and not anecdotally based (*my words).

Myth is cool though, but we now have art, pyschology and such (although some scientists still reject psy as just another "religion") so Im not sure that religion serves much of a purpose beyond dividing people into ins and outs. In fact Im fairly certain it doesn't.

But as I said some religions are better than others. For a non-theistic "religion" for instance Zen Buddhism is fairly cool but has a tendency to become rather cult like at times itself.

But if its altered states and deep introspection your after nothing beats quantum Physics imo - maybe some vitamin A once and a while too

  7. I take the gist of your statements to be that I paint all "religion" with too broad a brush. Its hard not too when you look at who and what is most broadly aknowledged to be representitive of "religion" around the world. The loud mouthed fundies and evangels have it by a long shot. For example, other than Quakers and their like, if there are any compassionate and tolerant Christian sects (of any significance) you sure don't here of Presidents taking counsel among them ala Billy Graham style. And while the nicey nice mystics and meditators are much more bearable than the firebrands who get all the attention, they are certainly pretty rare (statistically insignificant) and porbly waist too much time on introspection and philosophy.

As to the topic at hand, Olympia should have never allowed a representative display of litto Baby Jesus in a government building. Plastic Litto Baby Jesus's (as cute as he may be that litto rascal) are an "in your face" kind of thing and that = government promotion of religion. 'Coarse, once you do that you better consider it an open forum and allow ALL points of view. That's pretty much what the courts have said so it's on. Eventually, when something like the Enumclaw Church of Animal Husbandry decides to put up a display they will shut the whole thing down..lesson learned

  8. RE:

Seems you're confusing the manifestations of human institutions versus a sense of wonder and awe of the universe. The latter is prerequisite to a religious/spiritual outlook on life.

    and..

True Atheism does not exist. A true athieist would end their life as soon as they truly believed in Atheism.......but you need to realize that people cannot comprehend nothingness for a reason -- it does not exist. And that is the only thing that does not exist - John Flaschberger

One time, at band camp, i dropped acid and slept with this girl..here is what I learned..

"Religion" is a result of the onset and evolution of consciousness.

When our brains finally became developed enough (via biological evolution) to self reflect, our consciousness produced the illusion of "selfness". Once you have a self you then start asking things like, "How could I be here now without having been somewhere else before?", "Where will I be after I die?", "Where did I come from?" The easy conclusion is that the self (the "I") was created by a creator or a God. But since the science is pointing to a different conclusion - that human consciousness derives from (and evolved with) the human brain - we should probly reconsider the "easy" solution.

As it turns out (most likely), there is no one single individual experiencing things and moments, there are merely things and moments cognitively tied together to form a coherent and orderly structure of perception which results in the illusory conceptual phenomenon of an individual "self". Once you understand that "I" may be an illusion (or atleast erroneously projected by your brain) you can then get past the idea of a creator god who made "you".

But arn't "believers the only people with morality? No. Arn't believers the only people with compassion? No. Arn't believers the only people who are met with a sense of creative wonderment and awe when gazing at the world? Of coarse not. These "higher" qualities of human behavior and consciousness are not necessarily correlated to nor derived from a supernatural presence or "creator". They simply stand on their own as a valuable and maybe necessary result of human evolution.

The real "problem with religion" however comes down to a problem of closed mindedness or intentional ignorance. It is a problem of being so emphatically certain about your view (and ironically insecure as well) that you seek to impose it (consciously or unconsciously) on others. This violates the very open mindedness, the very awe and wonder, the very inquisitiveness that is at the heart of what brings us to a "sacred" view of life. Of coarse not all religious people act in this way and for that reason there is a distinction to be made between those that do and those that don't.

To summarize, Ken Hutcherson is a moron and an asshole..

  9. a few questions..

If God is "all knowing" why doesn't he know my true intent (ie my heart) and juss go wit dat?

If he does know my heart, why do I have to say things out loud like "I declare Jesus Christ to be my lord and savior.."? before he lets me chill?

If God is all powerful, why does he get jealous? Why wrathful? I know some regular people who never get jealous or wrathful even, are they more better than God?

If God is all powerful, why can't he kick satans ass and laugh at him trying to eat corn on the cobb with no teeth?

If we are "made in his image" why so many ugly people? unless...

If God knows whats next, why don't he just do somethin about it?

Oh God, if youre God, why you fuck with peoples heads so much bitch?

..and wus up with nuns an shit?

..and why you make butts anyway??

  10. His "first task" is to do no further harm. He inherited one hell of a mess and he's smart enough to know he needs experienced people at his side - especially at the beginning. Plus, I guess we know for sure now that he's no socialist :laf: he might still be a terrorist or a fag though :provoke:

On the other hand, I haven't heard shit from him lately about a national health care plan (wtf?). Being he declared on national tv that health care is a "right" I'm sure he will soon begin to hear from the peepo 'bout this.

Election day may have come and gone, but amazingly the world still resembles the non-utopia it was the day before. It's incumbent on us to continue to keep OBwan honest and true to his word. If you really care enough (beyond an internet bitch fest) Im sure you've already organized up.

  11. My proud white bruhthuhs..

Was it muslims that invented intentionally slaughtering innocents?

Terrorism sucks, war sucks, and if you want to get past it you have to inform and educate the ignorant masses/classes- including the "wealthy and prideful Ayran Christians" of the northern hemesphere - and you have to get past the unfair and unjust distribution of health, wealth and education around the globe.

If the world economy continues to fold like the house of cards it apparently is/was it means that global wealth will stay in the hands of the few that now hold it and that means large populations of desperation which breads what? anyone? - then we aint seen nothin yet as far as violence, war and "terrorism' goes.

  12. ..the fuck...

..if in nearly the amount of time it takes to snap yr fingers, we can simply write trillion dollar plus IOU's to prop up a failed, corrupt and unjust financial/political system..

..if in nearly the amount of time it takes to snap yr fingers, we can simply write trillion dollar plus IOU's to continue to pay the exorbitant salaries of ceo's who should rather (rightfully) be in jail..

..if in nearly the amount of time it takes to snap yr fingers, we can simply write trillion dollar plus IOU's and create this bizarre and backwards form of ("aristocratic") socialism where the rich get richer and everyone else is basically fucked..

..if we can do all this in the snap of a finger, why can't we write a fucking IOU and GET HEALTH CARE FOR EVERYONE???

....if we can do all this in the snap of a finger, why can't we write a fucking IOU and ACTUALLY FULLY FUND PUBLIC EDUCATION???

And...Why can't we stop this fucking bullshit charade of a debate about the "evils of socialism", "individual responsibility" and "pulling your own weight" etc.. blah, puke.. and in the snap of a finger JUST FUCKING WRITE A CHECK AND GET IT DONE? HOW 'BOUT A BAIL OUT FOR THE REST OF US???

  13. So far so good for the commie terrorist muslim :moondance:

The congressional races are looking pretty good as well. The Repubs will have to repent and remake themselves or they're done FOREVAR!

    Woo whooo!

  14. ..If it were not for right-leaning media to balance out the left there would be no complete picture...

Yes, what would we do without those that stick up for.. blind, unrestrained greed and corruption, aristocracy, corporate domination of our lives, environmental degradation, militarism, imperialism, religious fundamentalism?

How could we possibly live without the right wing?

  15.

Do any of you use macro/mezo/micro cycles to train? This could be in strength training, cardio/endurance or more sport specific (ie climbing) training. There are many many versions of "periodization" these days but the over riding priciple is that you should train different aspects of fitness at different times (phases) as opposed to continuously building everything at once.

    Im curious about things like..

    a) on a scale of 1-10, how structured your personal training regiment is?

    b) if youve seen a payoff from "periodizing" your training schedule?

    c) do you use a modified version of periodization, don't use or even disagree with the traditional "linear" methods of training specific aspects of fitness in different phases?

In my case, I seem to have seen some payoff in certain aspects of fitness -and health, ie "injury avoidance"- by using a periodized approach to training but I wonder what others/climbers think.

    tnx
