  2. There are @ 300 up at this lake (Twin Lakes) in the Elkhorns. @ 4 mile hike from the road just up out of Baker. Too long for a day trip, but gaurenfrikanteed goats. Lots of em. I was there like last month.

    Huckleberries?

Right now, hit anywhere @ the 2500-3000' level in the southern Washington area and brace yourself. They're in big time.
  4. Link A journey of a thousand miles begins with but a single step
  5. Where ever you want....:-) I'll most likely get there @ 5:30 as well. It's your turn to call it Bri. I haven't been on Tiger paws and Dreamweaver in a while. Since I cleaned off the route on the buttress - Dreamweaver now goes to the ground via that start and not off the tree 25' up on the wall, but I see that the great handhold that use to be off the ground there has already been pulled off:-( Whatever is good for you. If it's just the 3 of us: how about Emotional Rescue as an alternative to Tiger paws/DW, and-or if others show, maybe all those routes on Silver Bullet or Breakfast Cracks where we can accommodate everyone?
  6. 100% agreement. My wife and I said EXACTLY that. She walks the 3 blks to work daily, I use to ride my bike to work for @ 10 years, now I get a 1/2-45 min hour car commute. Unfortunately, trying to cross into Vancouver to hit Beacon or O, or even just heading further out to Broughtons after work SUCKS. I friggan hate that rush hour drive. The Butte is an hour and thats about my tolerance level, although climbing out of the car to get on something at Beacon does take some of the sting out of that commute. There isn't much time left to climb after the drive: traffic dependant.
  7. Your wife will love that flowery smell! I stick with Woolite and that alone, and haven't heard any rope mfg recommend Downy as safe: but you'd think it would be ok as it doesn't ruin other fabrics.
  8. Ha, except you were already outclimbing everybody else when you were 14 years old!
  9. Sounds great! What do you want to get on? I think I'd rather be on cracks than face, but if its just us 2 though, we could do Phylynx and the offwidth to the right of it. Tim: sorry I missed Toothpick on Tuesday! Maybe we can get a headcount for Thurs?
  10. too much beta. It's pretty much a total trad area. It is special. Sometimes in the winter, when the storms are a raging and it's not fit for man or beast, I'll go out and just hang out 20' up on a ledge or under a dry boulder. It's definatly special. Timcj, when will you be out there? Maybe you can hook up with some local and run up a great (trad) route using their gear.
  11. His company, which had build the Rose Garden, declared bankruptcy, which lead to Paul (4th richest dude around) having to buy his seat from the very bondholders he'd fu*ked over. However, he recently came to terms with them and some kind of repurchase was announced. The Paul Allen people just committed big money repurchasing it, and I suspect that the terms may be a little more onerous on Paul given his reputation as a sh*thead who will f*uck you in the ass sans lubrication if you give him a chance. It could still happen that they would move, but given how loyal the Trailblazer fans are, and the fact that PA would need league approval to move, and that kind of thing is not something easily granted.
  12. Tommy Chong? No wonder he's so pissed, he got arrested for selling bongs.
  13. Johnny, last night when I posted that, I had tried to finish off a neighbors wine cellar. Today, sobering reality - that lil slice on my finger hurts and I'm takin a rest day (*cough wussie*cough * wussie). Kev, love to - but fridays are my worst days for free time.
  14. I already read about this in spray. They needed donuts,......
  15. need a belay Tuesday, should be easy stuff as I sliced my index finger open. Good belayer only.
  16. Kevbone has that answer pretty much nailed correctly. All that needs to be identified is what kind of monkyees.....surely not Davey Jones...hmmm. ps, sonics haven;'t left yet dude.

    Singles beware

    Who cares
  18. Inadaquate: hire a real electrician to look at it. You have AC? Heat pump? Faulty breakers have been known to occur. Mansons locked up, but who knows where his brother is......hire it out.
  19. Monkyee or top of red wall.
  20. Muffster: If troutdale is close to your work (time is money), then check out places on the Sandy river. Get high enough that the 100 year floods don't sweep you away:-) When my family lived in a tent, we camped (lived) on the river for a while and I can assure you that between the swimming and hiking, (and all the crap that everyone has elaborated on above) it's an awesome place for kids.

    Prodigy

Interesting. Uhhh, I'm hit and miss with that: tend to admire people who have balance.
  22. Still posting pics of your new boyfriend again? I thought we discussed you NOT doing this the last time your brought up the differences of Astroglide and Crisco when taking it up the A##. This dudes for sure an upgrade over scab-boy, but I guess you weren't looking at his face anyway, eh? BTW, glad you got the shots and fixed that drip, and I think we've all seen finer thread revivals than this feeble attempt. Who's the smartypants now?
  23. I don't know, but it just seems humorous to me. I have a visual of these donut eating, Chief Wiggam-looking heavy fellas in cowboy boots "Hey lets take the shortcut over the mountain". I'm glad they are all fine, it wouldn't be funny if they weren't. I did look like thye were carrying a litter...hmmm. Full story from Melissas link: " Sunday, August 12, 2007 By JOSE PAUL CORONA and DAVE KERN Columbian Staff Writer An effort to rescue law enforcement officers in the Columbia River Gorge was wrapped up shortly after 3 p.m. today. The last man, a Clark County Sheriff’s deputy, was taken out of the Dog Creek canyon area Sunday afternoon by a rescue crew. Nine officers hiked into the area Saturday afternoon to destroy 3,100 marijuana plants east of Dog Mountain, said Skamania County Undersheriff Dave Cox. They decided to take an alternative route back and ended up spending the night, Cox said. “They tried to come out through the Dog Creek drainage and one of the guys started to cramp up,” he said. They also found the area very difficult to walk because of its canyon-like terrain. The group included members of the Clark-Skamania Drug Task Force and Skamania County Sheriff’s Office deputies, Cox said. The undersheriff said about 70 rescuers were involved in getting the officers down safely. A Coast Guard helicopter from Astoria, Ore., tried to rescue the officers about 10 p.m. Saturday but found the winds too strong to make a pickup. “It’s taken a lot of manpower to bring these guys out because it’s so steep,” Cox said. One rescuer broke his thumb when it was struck by a falling rock, otherwise, no one was seriously hurt, he said. Cox said the officers reached the top of the Dog Mountain, at 2,948 feet, and realized they needed to drop down about 1,500 feet to get to the marijuana grow. “They were pretty much exhausted just by the time they got to the top of Dog Mountain,” Cox said. So, after the grow was destroyed, Cox said, the officers decided against climbing back up Dog Mountain and to try the Dog Creek drainage route. Cox said other rescue team members are with Portland Mountain Rescue; Multnomah County Search and Rescue; Wind River Search and Rescue; Clark County Search and Rescue; Silver Star Search and Rescue; and the Volcano Rescue Team of Yacolt. He said the American Red Cross helped at the base camp near Drano Lake on state Highway 14." I guess the moral of that story is leave peoples pot alone.
  24. Pretty sure that wasn't me. Last time I was in the 5.8 gully (corner), it was early spring, wet, I was out with Joseph and Jimmy O and I'd forgotten my climbing shoes so was tennis shoeing it. Last time I was in that area was maybe 2 weeks ago in the evening - did Glenn's route, Fandango, all 3 versions of Last Tango, and everything on Silver Bluff proper too, but not the gully. But not the gully, I'm not suspicious with anybody, maybe someone who looked like me? You sure? This is me (Out there last month): Come out some evening eh?
