  1. Dear DFA, ...So you want to know RobBob's secrets, eh? How he gets inside your mind and manages to post what you're up to and what you're thinking? Well, in this one case I'll share. I recall that you recently mentioned that you were involved with "Crisco Racing." I thought you meant the old NASCAR team. So I did a quick Google and...voila! I found out what Crisco means to you!!
  2. Bronco sounded about right to me. It's different if you discover your interest in this sport after you've been married a dozen years and have a couple of small kids. My wife ain't too thrilled about my climbing plans/equipment/anything else, and I can kinda understand it. When the kids are a little older, I have a feeling that she will enjoy it with me. All you young & single folks, have fun climbing now. I can remember saying with great emphasis "Any girl that doesn't like me going surfing, forget her." I haven't surfed in 20 years...and I'm glad I got my priorities right since then.
  3. Aww, I know DFA and he's really a pretty cool cone...
  4. So THIS is the 'adventure race' you were bragging to me about...and that must be "Topper" in front of you.

    World Going Crazy

A German buddy sent me an email: You know the world is going crazy when the best rapper is a white guy, the best golfer is a black guy, The Swiss hold the America's Cup, France is accusing the US of arrogance, and Germany doesn't want to go to war."
  6. yes'm
  7. If you know what you want, you might find a good used pair on eBay. People put a fair amount of gear up for sale there.
  8. Okay, DFA...how come you know so much about what I checked, huh?? Are you the dark force behind these "meet people with similar minds" emails??
  9. may I call you Sable?
  10. hey minxie, ya missed the part where I was chestbeating about it (Gotta chestbeat about sumthin...can't abt climbin)
  11. Like I said, my dad claimed 30 years ago that a higher percentage of Mensa members were working menial jobs or on the street than the normal population. His not-so-subliminal message I guess was that these folks took great pride in documenting their intelligence, without actually using it.
  12. I learned some things on this thread: 1. I confirmed that there are some clever folks here (and it appears some bullshitters too ) 2. Iain was correct about the spam...that damn IQ site has already emailed me...I DO NOT CARE if 47% of my 'IQ type' first made out at a highschool dance!! 3. My instinct was right...I forced myself to read some of tomcat's posts and I still think the Myers-Briggs and other personality profiles yield more insight into people than IQ tests. People who score the same on an IQ test may have skills, interests, and aptitudes for totally different things. It's those things that interest me...not an 'intelligence quotient.'
  13. I don't score quite as high as dru, but over the bar, let's say. I didn't find those questions very hard either...but I did do the test slower than I did the last IQ test many years ago. Years and years of systematic abuse seemed to have only slowed response time, thank goodness. Seriously, I'm not surprised that a number of you would score very high. Look at the selection process: Working at a computer/have figured out how to dick off and make money too/post to spray because they are clever smartasses who like to spar/took the IQ test because they knew they scored high in the past/etc. It makes sense.
  14. Catbird, DFA is a poseur (kiddin' ). I can honestly claim to do well in general in the 'dot test' arena...but as my old man used to say, there are a higher percentage of Mensa members riding on the back of trashtrucks than in the overall population.
  15. DFA, from what SC said, you don't hang very low at all...

As someone with a long Southern pedigree, I say
  17. Somebody oughta go back and excerpt Necro's posts over the past six months. I really believe that he wants his country to fail. What he says goes way past trolling, and the effort he takes to post this mess tells me that his message is heartfelt.
  18. Q: What do you call a dolphin that can't swim 35 mph? A: Starkist!

    I'm back!

thanks guys...I knew there were dino-geeks out there!
  20. RobBob

    I'm back!

Speaking of "sauruses," why is it that paleontologists have changed the names of some of the dinosaurs? Like the Brontosaurus of my youth is now Apatosaurus? I, and my 5yo boy want to know...
  21. You can't herd cats, either, Jim. That doesn't make them smart.
  22. Dave, that's not the sound of freedom---it's the sound of "LOOK AT ME!" haha dru
  23. Necro, we are gonna make sure mikeadam sees yur last post when he gets back!! (and your spelling of 'soldier' makes the post even funnier)
  24. don't you think West Virginians have been stereotyped enough, Dru?!
