  1. Congo? Do you actually know about the atrocities and the civilian death count (over 5 millions) in Congo between the late 90's early 2000's? Have you heard of the systematic mutilations, rapes, murders? Unbelievable.
  2. Quit talking out of your ignorant ass. Not only did the western media described these people in the same terms they are talking about muslim terrorists today but civilian targets have always been a fact of war, especially during asymmetric guerrilla warfare.

Let's face it, beneath the smooth talking veneer you have never been much more than a knuckle-dragging red-baiter.

Not only has nuclear been heavily subsidized over the years but it got much higher subsidy per kW-hour than any renewable is getting today.
  5. This is why commies like j_b typically dispense with inconveniences such as jury trials when they come to power--and why it's important to make sure they never do. Your Goebbels worthy demonization tactics won't change the fact that hardly anyone here needs more evidence that you and your jackbooted friends are racist.

Subsidies for the US oil sector ($15-30billions/year): * Construction bonds at low interest rates or tax-free * Research-and-development programs at low or no cost * Assuming the legal risks of exploration and development in a company's stead * Below-cost loans with lenient repayment conditions * Income tax breaks, especially featuring obscure provisions in tax laws designed to receive little congressional oversight when they expire * Sales tax breaks - taxes on petroleum products are lower than average sales tax rates for other goods * Giving money to international financial institutions (the U.S. has given tens of billions of dollars to the World Bank and U.S. Export-Import Bank to encourage oil production internationally, according to Friends of the Earth) * The U.S. Strategic Petroleum Reserve * Construction and protection of the nation's highway system * Allowing the industry to pollute - what would oil cost if the industry had to pay to protect its shipments, and clean up its spills? If the environmental impact of burning petroleum were considered a cost? Or if it were held responsible for the particulate matter in people's lungs, in liability similar to that being asserted in the tobacco industry? * Relaxing the amount of royalties to be paid

Please, enough dishonesty: you aren't lowering anything especially not what matters in this case which is oil energy use. That explains why we are the first consumer of oil among OECD nations (beside bad nation Canada). Behind your inadequate fig leaf you are condoning over-consumption, no regulations, etc ..
  8. Sustaining reactionary forces, including religious fanatics like in Afghanistan, to prevent national revolutions has been the MO of imperialism since WW2. And fortunately, I don't rely on you to know what argument is worth pursuing.

More avoidance of the inevitable truth: if they did everything right, it only shows that offshore drilling is fundamentally unsafe and the industry apologists are at best incompetent, if not outright liars.

You are such a fraud. The only possible relevance of oil use per GDP unit is according to the use of energy to generate a unit of GDP. In the case of shuffling fake wealth from a computer to another, it requires little energy or at least much less than that required by the heavy industries that have gone to developing nations.

how is that supposed to show that fuckwits who claimed offshore drilling was safe aren't to be held responsible? how is it showing that greater safety measures like the shutoff valve that is in use elsewhere aren't necessary and that the Bush appointees didn't sell the people around the gulf downriver? more obfuscation from oil industry shills.

Right, China only has 3 times as many people as we do, and its industrial capacity is just a wittle different too.
  13. But you don't have any proof of that. You simply want it to be true. I don't need proof (of which you have offered none) because I know which is much more probable.

  15. It's not a "reaction" as the support that Israel gave to Hamas during its early years to undermine Arafat and Fatah, exemplifies extremely well. "“Israel and Hamas may currently be locked in deadly combat, but, according to several current and former U.S. intelligence officials, beginning in the late 1970s, Tel Aviv gave direct and indirect financial aid to Hamas over a period of years. Israel ‘aided Hamas directly – the Israelis wanted to use it as a counterbalance to the PLO (Palestinian Liberation Organization),’ said Tony Cordesman, Middle East analyst for the Center for Strategic [and International] Studies. Israel’s support for Hamas ‘was a direct attempt to divide and dilute support for a strong, secular PLO by using a competing religious alternative,’ said a former senior CIA official.” Middle East analyst Ray Hanania concurs: “In addition to hoping to turn the Palestinian masses away from Arafat and the PLO, the Likud leadership believed they could achieve a workable alliance with Islamic, anti-Arafat forces that would also extend Israel’s control over the occupied territories.” http://original.antiwar.com/justin/2006/01/27/hamas-son-of-israel/
  16. An immigrant looking type calling for cop murder during a demo for immigration reform, not very likely. it certainly would be the MO of hate-mongering racist far right to photoshop a photograph like that, then hoping it'd go viral on the internet thanks to tools like yourself, which'd make you an accomplice of xenophobic propaganda.

really, Jim is an OK dude now. He ain't a soshalist anymore?
  18. You are referring to cultural traditions that go back 1000's of years. The existence of these nasty traditions didn't mean that extremists were in power in these regions like they are today. The CIA didn't dream them up. They used them because it was expedient to go with the bankrupt "enemy of my enemy is my friend", and to do so they enabled them politically and militarily. That's a well known fact that only neocons/perpetual war types refute nowadays. Go ahead, and make up more fake quotes to build your lousy strawmen.
