dru you might be on to something. I get cold hands really easily too, and my resting is low 40's. I also seem to be really susceptible to mild frostbite, but that may be more to do with being exposed to that condition repeatedly.
I found it creepy skiing in Rogers Pass last time I was there. Plenty of terrain to slide and a twisted transitional climate to boot. It is an initimidating place to ski from an avalanche hazard standpoint.
Summit shots of that climb are some of the best I've seen in climbing. I need to get out to SE Utah again, it has been a long time. The Escalante area is totally mindblowing.
yeah the shots from timberline looked promising today but telemetry reads 42 degrees F at top of the Magic Mile with average winds at a breezy 55, gusting to 71. break out the tshirts and sunscreen. snow is falling though, at times.
