Paint is no good. I go to the mountains to get away from people and take in the beauty. Spray paint doesn't belong on rocks on the top of a mountain. A little checking around and you will figure out how to get down. What next, painted arrows showing you where the route goes and how to get to the top?

Try Banks Lake. The water is nice and warm too in the summer.

I am heading up the Pasayten Wilderness soon and I am thinking about climbing Cathedral Peak and Ampitheater Mtn. Has anyone done any routes on these mountains that are especially good?

Never seen a ranger up there hiking around I don't think a cop would really want to drive up there to just give a ticket.

Enchantments in a day is a good one. Maude and 7 Fingered Jack are good too because of the views. You could do both maude and jack in one long day from the car.

Those guys at the leavenworth ranger station really suck. For some reason, they can't go out and maintain any of the trails because they "don't have any money," but yet they can drive around in their new trucks and issue tickets. The fact that they are ripping up the bridges to colchuck and stuart in the middle of the summer only makes me more mad. I have absolutely no reason to buy their parking passes or pay/register at their trailheads when they do not provide any sort of service at all.
