  1. I like board lasted cause I like cracks and find they ease some of the pain of the foot jam. But I do find them lacking as far as sensitvity for face climbing for smearing and frictioning. has anyone tried the red chilli's that suposedly have some sort of hibrid board lasted thing??? there found it. Red Chili Sausalito???

  2. D, I am on your side. What I fear is over regulation, mandatory guides, a license to climb, and other such non fun things... I think over bolting is yucky and have a project for anyone who wants it (here in oregon) I am not a trad climber yet, but I do prefer to follow trad. Although i do enjoy clipping bolts as well. But I think that sport climbing has it's place. I CAN"T SAY THIS ENOUGH!!!!! I AGREE WITH YOU> I guess in my idealistic brain I just wish that all people that went to the mountains would be so kind as to take their trash with them, And leave well enough alone as far as climbs where you can protect.

As far as weather someone is right or not about the toy, usualy no. We have very few toys that belong to one child or the other. Very comunal here [Wink]

  3. What I gathered Eriks point to be was that either side of the coin, is still the same coin. You have to be brave, and think about things in new ways to come up with real solutions...

You all have every right to say whatever you want to say, but that is some what like watching my children fight over a toy. "it's mine... no, it's mine." they are both right and they are both wrong... with that kind of debate... well hasn't gotten us very far in the 17 years (bonbon) that our extended comunity has been at it.

I realy believe from the bottom of my heart that we have to solve this, or the government will step in, and non of us will have the freedom and fun that we have now. So say what ever you need to say, but keep your mind open so that we have hope to extend to our children the freedoms and adventure that we ALL know and love so well.

  4. interesting topic for discussion [big Grin] I think alot of it has to do with who you learn from... not just where you learn. My first climb was (at Smith) with a woman who I have been friends with for a long time. She hiked a bunch, bagged some peaks etc. picked up rock climbing from a boy friend. They broke up, so she taught me how to climb. But along with the climbing she tought me the respect for the areas, and the out doors. So although I have not bagged any peaks [Wink] yet I feel like I was lucky enough to learn from someone who learned from someone who has an appritiation for the mountains.

  5. Enlightenment found at Vantage with a grigri in one hand and a cell phone in the other.

Hey mitch, if that is enlightenment, than adventure climbing where no cell phone can get sevice must be NIRVANA... I am closer than I thought. [big Grin][Wink]

  6. dear god, I believe hell hath frozen over, for I too agree with allison, trask, and ray bonbon [Wink][Razz] dennis, You need to mellow out. there are many gen, x ers who have also atained a degree of enlightenment that you will not find in your life. This is not neccesarrily a problem of generation. I have met many climbers, and of those that I have met so far of my generation, the majority prefer to climb trad. we climb sport only because it is there, close, and the area was unprotectable. BUT, WE did not bolt it. That was someone from your generation. [Roll Eyes]

  7. Anna climbs, belle climbs, I do indeed climb. I climbed last night. climbed a line that I have never climbed before. It was pretty easy, but fun. I climbed on tuesady as well. And would have climbed twice yesterday, but one of my regulare partners is a bit of a flake [Wink]

    [geek][geek] happy now?
