  1. ive had the garmin etrex for about 2 years now and it has worked perfectly. it has helped down off of mountains in zero visibility. plus it only costs 120 bucks, you can find it on sale for a 100. i dont think that the 300$ models are worth it. it has all the basic features, create routes, waypoints, speed, etc. also you can hook it up to your computer to up/download routes, waypoints...battery life is good, better than most i believe ive used the track-back feature while hiking, without looking up to see where i was going and it kept me right on course...
  2. how soon is the road to todd lake open? i would like to camp and climb from there as soon as it is clear of snow. any info would be helpful even if its vague. thanks
  3. how much? ill pay a $1.25 for the girl...looks like a girl i used to know in northern idaho...50 bucks for the car. (fenders and new shocks are gonna be pricey)
  4. quote: there is no reason to climb that chosspile from todd lake. the route actually starts several miles up the road, but from the sounds of it that whole south side isnt any good.so what route do you reccommend? northwest ridge from green lakes? or another? thanks
  5. true true... i guess the etrex summit with the altimeter and electronic compass are worth the extra bucks. the altimeter could come in handy since the one on the base model etrex is often off by as much as 100'. my vote is now for the etrex summit, for value and features.
  6. spray it dont say it
  7. hey did you end up going? i went today the 15 and it was beautiful...made it to the devils kitchen and turned around...from the lack of partner and experience...good times though
