  1. I'm looking for some field use feedback (stiffness, comfort, warmth, tourability) on this Scrapa model.... I'm a 49 yo 170 lb 5' 9" AT type who I would consider an expert lift ski and a conservatively advanced B.C. skier. I'm looking for a "bigger" boot to drive fatter skis in Cacade type snow conditions. Initially these would be paired with 170 cm BD Mira's and Fritchi bindings. The other question is shell sizing... I have a med low volume type foot structure and I typically go with a 7.5/8.0 depending the manufactures last. I'm presently using Lowa Struktura's (green/silver) mondo shell size 25.5. Thanks in adance for your feedback and insight.
  2. Anybody have information on either of these two routes?Permits needed (no. parties allowed) the approach, are these considered technical or non-techincal routes, etc. I searched and it's all about the NE ridge route. Thanks in advance.
  3. Looking to buy some 505's. These were the yellow model of the Easy Go line. Need the small frame.
  4. I believe it to be about 7K. 9K is the approximate elevation of the saddle separating the Coleman and Demming glaciers, just below the beginning of the Roman Wall.
  5. Anyone out there have experience with the Lowa Struktura GTX? Appreciate any reviews. Thanks in advance.

    Skins

Need to purchase a set skins for a new pair of BD Mira's. What does everybody like/dislike about whatever they are using? I leaning towards the BCA Low Fats. Opinions? Experience with? Thanks in advance.
  7. Does anybody use a short sewn spectra sling to attach? I have seen folks use a short sling on an BD alpine bod to attach their belay biner. Doesn't it essential becomes a belay loop on the harness...

You out there cman? I sent a PM, are you still interested?
  10. Clarify... There's a yellow Easy Go (out of production), a blue Easy Go 555 and a black Easy go 500 and a black Easy Go 500 LV or LSV or some acronim.
  11. Anyone interested in a pair of Silveretta crampons? These are compatible with the the yellow colored "Easy Go" model now out of production (They might also work with other older models??). I busted the heel piece of the binding earlier this season and Climb High replaced them with the 555 Easy Go (blue colored)excellent customer service I might add. . Unfortunately the crampons for the yellow model are not compatible with the new 555's. Hate to see a good piece of equipment go to waste... $25 or trade? BTW. effective 1/1/04 Garmont USA is now the distributor for Silveretta. s.
  12. Anybody got beta on Icy. Been up to Ruth via hannegan pass last June and got a look at icy. I'm looking at approaching via the n.f. nooksack this time. How's the rock on the pinnicle? Howabout the west side glacier route? other useful?
  13. Thanks gentlemen...just the type of info. I was looking for.
  14. Thanks A.C. We are hoping to time it so we can use the snow cover on the trail to ski both in and out thus speeding the trail work up.
  15. Looking at skiing in to Glacier Peak (Sitkum route)in the next couple of weeks. The FS claims FR #23 is open approximately 5 miles (Crystal Creek?) I'll wait until the road is open to the Owl Creek TH given the already lengthly approach via kenndy hot springs. Question: Does Anybody out there have first hand knowledge of a ski approach into Glacier/Sitkum via kennedy hot spring during this time of year?
  16. Who out there has climbed / skied the North Twin of the Twin Sisters in the Winter? Looking at skinning /climbing the "North Route" (Beckey) and descending the same by ski. Appears to be achieveable... curious about the skibility of the very upper portion of the North Route?

    Eyeware

Thanks. I appreciate the info. Unfortunately the Doc's telling me that my stygmatism isn't a good candiate for either contacts or laser correction. I've decided to give the new Bolle system a try. the snap-in RX insert appears to be pretty solid. My gut tells me that if it does happen to "pop" out, going to have more to worry about than the RX insert.
