  6. i thought libtards were supposed to be all warm and fuzzy Um, yea. They are. Just ask 'em.
  7. Removed due to a Leavenworth transplant with a personal axe to grind. (See below.)
  8. Give me a call if you need a partner. I'm about 45 min away from Black Diamond. Not sure where you live. Do you ever ride Tokul? Banner Forest?
  9. I thought you were talking about right now--and it be soccer season. (Unless you're one of those hard-core year round baseball families ) That bike is pretty cool. There are a bunch of companies coming out with electric-assist bikes and I'm wondering what's going to happen when these start showing up at places like Westside and Carbon River roads--NP grades where bicycles are allowed but motorized traffic is banned.
  10. Did you ever have to use it? How do you know you wouldn't be balls-deep in medical bills and fighting tooth and nail to get the coverage you thought you were paying for the whole time? No, never had to use it. In fact, I only had it for five months. How do I know they would pay? Because I had a contract that I read thoroughly and because, contrary to what you believe, insurance companies do adhere to the letter of their agreements. And when they don't, well, you're right--that's what attorneys and insurance commissioners are for. I'll ask you the same question: How do you know that the insurance you have now will pay up? Hell, Medicare doesn't pay up a big part of the time from what I've heard--or they simply short pay doctors and hospitals to the point where they stop providing care. And there is no recourse. This is the world you want? As for TTK, Feck, Off White, and GGK: I offered up a rather personal story for your consideration here on this site--and it's a true story. If you feel compelled to dismiss it, that's fine. But I'm not sure why you also feel compelled to insult me by calling me a liar or a Fox News parrot, other than my story poses a threat to your lefty dreams. Second note to self: Stop sharing personal stories.
  11. Ah, that explains a lot... Is PCP a Republican epidemic? Or perhaps it's just a PNW CC.com thang? Primary Care Physician. Used to be a big problem in the US, but Obama is taking care of it as we speak. [video:youtube]1LRcLMScEqo
  12. When I see those poor parents standing in the rain and mud at the field near my house, I thank God that my kids weren't soccer players.
  13. Yea, come to think of it, there was a pretty long no-repeat ride out there. I'll have to revisit. I'm not into big drops either--too old, no insurance right now--just xc trail riding. Although Duthie is kind of fun when it's dry.
  14. I've only been there a couple of times since that church bought up all that property on the east side of the highway, so I was surprised to discover that they're a pretty MTB-friendly lot and have done a lot of work. (Maybe they're hoping we'll all join their church?) I'm not really into dedicated parks or twisties all that much. More into HWY 410 type climbs with a quantifiable gain and long descents. I've been riding a lot at Capitol Forest lately too. I'll have to get back out there to BD soon though.
  15. Doh! YOu beat me to it!
  16. Only road bikers are snobs and require taxation. Mountain bikers are cool and have little impact on their surroundings. Only Harvey Manning hates us. (and he's dead.) edit: oh yea, the horse people don't like us much either.
  17. I'm just glad you're not using 17-point font and assigning me a letter grade. And I agree, Rob's bike is cute.
  18. ?????
  19. lol @ 19lb he probably just misspelled lead frame. 19lb. bike, duh. Honestly, I don't really know what a road-commuter bike weighs these days. My Trek Fuel EX9 weighs in at 27.2 w/several modifications, and my Gary Fisher HooKoo E Koo hardtail weighs in at 23.04. Light by MTB standards, but far too heavy for the 520 bridge, I'm sure. Rob, the picture is not clear enough, but I could almost swear I see "OCLV" stamped on that top tube--and that fork looks like carbon for sure.
  20. I love it how healthy behaviors (not smoking, bike commuting, healthy diet, etc...) will get one branded as a full-fledged member of the liberal elite. Maybe I'm just a guy of modest means on a 10 year old $400 dollar aluminum frame Specialized commuter bike. The 2500 lb Nissan tears up the road more. Let's tax bikes proportional by wear and tear. The 20lb bike will be taxed at 20/2500 the rate of the Nissan. Seems fair to me FW! Something...ANYTHING would be a great start. Anyone know how many tens of millions will be spent for bicycle mitigation on the new 520 bridge so Rob can ride his bike? Maybe bicyclists should start paying a toll too.
  21. This one is particularly obnoxious--especially for a guy with only 17 posts. What's kinda funny is that if you only had 17 posts, you'd be way less obnoxious. I'll be eagerly looking for your "happy posts" on all the other forums! http://cascadeclimbers.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/1111897/TR_Lillian_Ridge_High_Route_Hi#Post1111897 http://cascadeclimbers.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/1110718/TR_Royal_Basin_to_Constance_Pa#Post1110718
  22. My PCP is a general practitioner at Franciscan Health (St. Joseph Hospital in Tacoma). I guess you know more than they do.
  23. Reading comprehension problems again? I can afford the under $20,000 stuff. This makes me a freeloader? Fuck off. Anyhow, not sure someone in your bogus so-called "medical" field should be spouting off about HIPPA or should be claiming any sort of medical knowledge about much of anything. Edit: As for your 10% limit on discounts, you have no idea what you're talking about. Did you just make that shit up, you stupid tool? Private practice docs (for the time being) are free to sell their services for whatever they damn well please. I just made an appointment for next Monday--50% off cash at time of service, prearranged.
  24. This is exactly what I'll end up doing. I have to say that I have been amazed at how negotiable dr and dds rates are when you pay cash. I left "the system" about five months ago and have spent far less in dr bills than I did premiums in a "Cadillac" health plan through my former employer. One example: my wife had a crown fitted two months ago--$1300. When she pulled out cash, they gave her 40% off. Ironically, when we had dental, a crown was only covered at 50% "usual and customary" which really penned out to, guess what, 40%! Paying cash--at least for the smaller stuff--is at least a break-even prop to having insurance. I am coming to believe that the insurance market maybe should be catastrophic only. The auto insurance industry operates this way, eg, they don;t cover routine maintenance--only wrecks. And their rates reflect market realities because of it. No so the medical insurance industry--pre or post ACA. The market will continue to be artificially inflated by masses who are insulated from the cost of their care--and doctors/hospitals willing to take advantage of this fact. Actually accepting different cash prices is highly illegal, and medical offices can't really legally do it HIPPA specifically prohibits that. And FW you really have no idea of medical costs. Simple appendectomy will cost you about 20K- that is if you don't have to stay in a hospital for more then a day. A day in ICU can cost you up to 125 grand, heck simple chemo infusion is usually 3-5K, not to mention if you are diagnosed with something like MS, you monthly bill will be around 20K for basic meds. You are truly living in a la-la land. Yes, I'm aware of all this. And it's why I liked the catastrophic coverage I had which covered these "big ticket" items over $20,000.
  25. Not sure what you're trying to convey, but no--no after the fact changes to posts. I swear.
