JasonG Posted July 20, 2016 Posted July 20, 2016 Wondering about the status of the road, heard that it was in pretty bad shape last year. Quote
G-spotter Posted July 21, 2016 Posted July 21, 2016 There was a rockfall that blocked the Chilliwack Lake FSR at 2 km (just past the end of pavement) this spring. I did the assessment for MoF to open it up but I don't know if they've done the work yet. If they have, I think there's a timber sale in lower Depot Creek so the road might get fixed up to nice non-potholed shape to there. Quote
JasonG Posted July 25, 2016 Author Posted July 25, 2016 Thanks, just got back last night and the work on the Chilliwack Lake road is done. Depot creek road is driveable to the regular parking area with 4WD HC (and lack of concern for your paint), we parked only about a couple km up the road before the steep bit. Kevork in the NPS ranger rig rallied to the wide spot just before the spur takes off up the hill. The spur badly eroded in the past couple years and is unrecognizable as a road spur any longer. Turn left at the cairn and stay on the left side of the gut. Quote
