Todd Anderson Posted February 25, 2016 Posted February 25, 2016 It seems like the snowpack keeps going to shit over the weekends, then slowly improving during the week. If I have to be at work at 10am, are there good tours I can do before work? Kendall Knob and Snoqualmie Pass as a whole comes to mind, but I'm not too familiar with the Cascades beyond Snoqualmie. Thanks! Quote
AlpineK Posted February 26, 2016 Posted February 26, 2016 Arriving at work at 10 AM is the main problem if you work in Seattle. There is skiing around Stevens Pass but drive time back to Seattle is longer even with limited traffic problems. There's skiing north of Steven's Pass and both sides of HYW-2 from Yodelin. The old Yodelin ski area might be your best bet. Quote
alpine et Posted February 26, 2016 Posted February 26, 2016 I've fairly reliably gotten around 3k in and then gotten to UW by 930ish. Traffic on the way back (particularly near the U) can be tricky though, so I don't do it when I have a hard time to be in the cube. Leave Seattle at 5, moving by 6, driving west by 830. Somewhat regrettably, we've only done Hyak so far, though as it gets lighter earlier, hoping to sneak a few Phantom runs or perhaps even the Slot in... (unlikely to make 10AM on that day....) Quote
Todd Anderson Posted February 26, 2016 Author Posted February 26, 2016 Thanks for the responses. Erik, I've been thinking about Phantom/the Slot and my eventual destination is UW, so it sounds like we're in a similar metaphorical boat. Tuesday and Thursday I don't have anything until 12:30....
