brionifitch Posted January 19, 2016 Posted January 19, 2016 I know it's been awhile but I climbed here on a beautiful New year's eve and noticed a lot of downed trees (especially a maple right across the trail 50ft in). Just wondering if this is still the case. I have a chainsaw and was thinking I could do some maintenance (if the parks dept would approve) and end up with firewood to boot... Quote
ivan Posted January 19, 2016 Posted January 19, 2016 it's not a park, so anybody who contributes labor to fix the trail gets good kharma Quote
brionifitch Posted January 19, 2016 Author Posted January 19, 2016 Lewis and Clark State Park..? kinda makes you think its a park maybe I'll just check it out and if it's there I'll take care of it Quote
ivan Posted January 19, 2016 Posted January 19, 2016 for some reason my brain read ozone it's possible i'm getting dumberer as i age hell, okay, broughton's. yeah, offer a homeless guy a sandwich and give him a bow-saw and bob's yer uncle. Quote
brionifitch Posted January 19, 2016 Author Posted January 19, 2016 Well shucks, I called the dept and he says yeah the tree might be there but you can't use power tools as a volunteer. Well shoot! how you supposed to get er done? Ah well... Quote
Water Posted January 19, 2016 Posted January 19, 2016 well, don't classify yourself as a volunteer. Find someone to pay you $5 to do it... Quote
mksportn Posted April 15, 2016 Posted April 15, 2016 I know this was a few months ago, but anyway, there will be a big trail maintenance day at Broughton on May 14th! https://www.facebook.com/events/1226920660669470/ Quote
