eric8 Posted January 15, 2003 Posted January 15, 2003 Since there have been two threads today on probelms with black diamond leashes I thought I would tell you all the about the marvels of the easy g leashes. Just to let you know that I have only had the tools for a month now and have used them three times. The best thing about the leash is it easy to get in and out of when placing pro. Just place the tool, then move your hand out from the tool and move it up. On mix ground where you may want to grab holds with your hands you can let go of the shaft of the tool and the leash will open up but still be around your wrist (does that make sense) allowing you to grab holds place pro or whatever. Another postive is moving from shaft to head of the tool where all you literally have to do is move your hand up the shaft of the tool, making sure to move the loop up the shaft of the tool as well. The only negative I have notice is that once I wrapped a leash around the head of the tool when using my hand to grap handholds. But that was me just being a dumbass mostly. I case you are considering buying new leashes there 11 bucks from europe you would have to be buying something else order them. 33 from mec and 23 from rei sorry it was the only us website i found that had them but i didn't look that hard and i'm sure jim's shop has got them. cracked Posted January 15, 2003 Posted January 15, 2003 And they cut off circulation in your hands as there is no buckle thingy to keep them from gettin too tight, they have a way funky design that hurts my hands, they are heavy, and since Eric has them I will never buy them! I think that if I don't keep the webbing of my BD leashes around the tool they will work very well. Will report once tried. Quote
eric8 Posted January 15, 2003 Author Posted January 15, 2003 I'm sorry have you used them? They don't cut circulation off to my hands (Think about whose hands were cold on saturday) Believe it or not if there adjust right they don't sinch down to tight either, I thought this was going to be a probelm until I used them. CascadeClimber Posted January 15, 2003 Posted January 15, 2003 I used them for a couple trips and found that they felt loose when I didn't want them to and other times felt too tight. They also tended to work their way up my wrist as I climbed. But that's just me. To each his/her own. Want to buy a set? Quote
cracked Posted January 15, 2003 Posted January 15, 2003 Just giving you shit Eric . I tried them in your basement. And I don't think my leashes had anything to do with my cold hands on Saturday. Quote
mwills Posted January 22, 2003 Posted January 22, 2003 i have the charlet moser version - same design i think. good leashes, but a couple complaints: first, they aren't handed. the "meat" of the padding is on the inside of one hand and the outside of the other hand . second, the padding could wrap around the hand a little further. other than that, they are simple and fairly easy to get out of. still possible to use on steep, but for moderate stuff i'll stick with EMS twist leashes .
