supafly Posted March 25, 2015 Posted March 25, 2015 Myself and another family are hoping to park our camping trailers somewhere along icicle creek tomorrow to do some climbing in the area. I contacted the local ranger and she said although the campgrounds are officially closed, some of them do not have gates and you can drive on up and park there, provided you bring your own water and crapper. Could anyone confirm which campsites we will be able to park up on? Thanks! Quote
genepires Posted March 25, 2015 Posted March 25, 2015 the first two campgrounds (8 mile and bridge creek) both have entrance roads that people park on (so that you are not on the main road) and do a quick walk down to some campgrounds. They are really close. Quote
Sol Posted March 25, 2015 Posted March 25, 2015 Bridge Creek is open and free, first come first serve. Depnds on how big your trailer is though.. Quote
supafly Posted March 25, 2015 Author Posted March 25, 2015 I have a little 13 footer but my friend has a longer 24 footer or something. We'll try for bridge creek, any others open further up? Upper Johnny? Quote
GerritD Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 Bridge creek should be fine. I have been there several times this winter and there is always some room at least. The only issue is that there are some fairly deep potholes, usually full of water, so dragging a trailer in might not be super fun if the clearance is not good but I have seen other trailers make it in just fine.
