Question on the South Brother

I've never been in the Olympics and a friend very new to climbing wants to climb he South Brother. Fitness shouldn't be an issue (at least for her-can't speak for this old fat man). Will she be comfortable without a rope? It looks like it would be much more enjoyable snow.

Better in snow, but OK without it. I climbed it a few years ago in September (no snow in sight) but felt secure scrambling. There is some loose stuff, but not any worse than anything else on the peninsula. If she's OK with scrambling, she should be fine.

Yeah, I can't speak to her comfort, but I don't think a rope would help there.

There is no snow left on South Colouir this late in the year btw.

Just climbed it. Def no rope due to chosstacularity.

 

The descent is the real fun part.
