normankirk Posted December 14, 2013 Posted December 14, 2013 (edited) With the purchase is a free Scottish wool balaclava. This is the Alpine Down Jacket, not the current Alpine Light. Purchased about 4 years ago at Montbell in Boulder. Would say in excellent condition except there is one tiny hole from a campfire spark repaired with a dab of seam grip. Color is thyme. Ballistic ripstop nylon shell. Washed once with Nikwax down wash. Has not been tightly stuffed for backpacking. Features: 800 fill power. 6 oz of goose down. Box baffle construction 2 fleece lined hand warmer pockets and fleece lined collar Super light weight - 14oz No frills, just super puffy and cozy Large is USA sizing Asking $85.00 plus shipping from Estes Park, CO. Paypal, cash or check. Gift - Circa early 1970's, Scottish wool balaclava. May be the one that was sold in one of the early Chouinard catalogs but could not verify. Soft, brushed, long fiber wool. Dark blue. This is a thick and very warm balaclava. The ragged edge along the opening is not wear but the finished look because it is hand knitted. Lightly used and in excellent condition.
