bstach Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 I haven't skiied in the backcountry for quite a few years now. I have an old pair of Scarpa T3 telemark boots (size 11) and an old Ortovox F1 Focus tranceiver. I am wondering if I would be able to sell these still or are they pretty much museum pieces now? Quote
Pete_H Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 I think people would be interested in the T3s for lightweight freeheal touring and they'd be a good complement to some of the newer wider waxless skis out there. Depending on their condition and age, I would think $50 - $150 ? Quote
KirkW Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 FWIW: this season I've purchased a pair of very gently used Garmont Prophets for $200 and a pair of twice skied, three year old Synergies for $50. Truly in mint shape. Granted, those Synergies were a steal and not the average deal but there is lots of cheep tele gear out there right now. I'd doubt you'd get $150 for a pair of T3's even if they were still in the box. If you do, let me know, cuz I'm taking the pair I just gave to my buddy back and listing them here Quote
bstach Posted November 26, 2013 Author Posted November 26, 2013 Is the F1 Focus compatible with the most recent tranceivers? Would I still be able to find my buddies and vice versa? Quote
Pete_H Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 I'm not really tuned into what's going on in the tele market, so I could definitely be off the mark, but seems like there might be somewhat of a niche market for a boot like the T3. Are manufacturers still making that kind of boot anymore? Sorry I don't have much to add regarding your beacon question. Quote
cman Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 (edited) Here is your model of beacon on sale on ebay right now, only getting $15.49. www.ebay.com/itm/Ortovox-F1-Focus-Transceiver-Avalanche-Rescue-Devise-/310807763408 Edited December 2, 2013 by cman Quote
petsfed Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 (edited) Scarpa rebranded the T3s as the T4s, but yes, there's still a market for them. http://www.scarpa.com/t4 Essentially a touring boot with a removable liner for multi-day, mellow ski tours. Also, for ultra-light maniacs who don't need a stiff boot to kill it. I would not pay $150 for a T3, even if it was new (or in my size). I tend to trust gear trade's prices, so check this out: http://www.geartrade.com/item/355995/scarpa-t3-tele-boots-mondo-25 Finally, I have a couple F1s for training purposes. They suck to do searches *with*, but if you need a couple of beacons to stash and search *for*, you can't go wrong. I got mine for $15 a piece a few years ago. bstach Posted December 13, 2013 Author Posted December 13, 2013 I posted my T3s on the Mountain Equipment Coop online gear swap for $75 and sold them the next day amid multiple responses. Makes me think I probably could have gotten more. Quote
