I am planning a trip to the Sawtooth March 11-15. I dont know much about them as far as what routes are fun, easy, hard, etc.

I am going with a friend who has only top roped. I love the trad lead so its ok. Anyways, its going to be more of a nice relaxed trip backpacking around. Id love to get some mountaineering in but my partner has never mountaineered before and I dont think they would be up for it unless it was really just a walk up to a summit. Or a hard summit I could solo at night while my partner sleeps ha

Can anyone tell me some good routes for this type of trip?

March in the Sawtooths means sub-zero temperatures and loads of snow. Approaches all start at the highway, so plan on 5 miles or so just to get to the mountains.

I love the sound of wisdom, its like a warm blanket on a cold winters day. Even the City of Rocks still has snow over spring break. I lived in Kanab Utah for a few years and Zion is just perfect that time of year. World class backpacking, hiking, and amazing vistas.

All the best.
