Jacob Smith Posted December 10, 2012 Posted December 10, 2012 Does anyone know about routes on the south peak of Baring Mountain? By this I mean what is actually the middle peak that you see from the west. I have found sporadic assertions that there is a scramble route from the gap between the south and main peaks, but I can't find anyone claiming to have actually done this. Quote
Bronco Posted December 10, 2012 Posted December 10, 2012 Me and a buddy did the route from the notch after bagging the N. Peak about 10 years ago. Nothing too memorable/noteworthy about the S. Peak route, bushwack III and some 3rd class scrambling on the west side of the peak. We weren't intending to include the S. Peak but the route looked short and obvious from the N. Peak and we were ahead of schedule so we went ahead with it. Didn't get any photos as the clouds were pretty low. Hope that helps. Quote
wetslide Posted December 10, 2012 Posted December 10, 2012 I am interested in this as well. I've eyed a few lines that look pretty technical. Here is a pic of the gap you talked about. Quote
