bonathanjarrett Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 (edited) The hex bolt on the masselotte has stripped on one of my Nomics making removal of the weight impossible. Suggestions? Drill it out? Some special bolt remover? Thanks Edited July 17, 2012 by bonathanjarrett Quote
pyyno Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 Have you tried hammering a torx tool in to the hex hole? Quote
bonathanjarrett Posted July 17, 2012 Author Posted July 17, 2012 No, but I will consider it. Thanks. Quote
tvashtarkatena Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 1. spray the works with penetrating oil. Wait a minute or two. 2. Drill it out slightly deeper than the hex hole with a bit slightly smaller than the torques drive bit you'll use to remove it. 3. hammer the torques drive bit in 4. remove. Quote
counterfeitfake Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 You need a screw extractor, sometimes called an easyout. If it's really stuck, spray some PB Blaster penetrating lube on the bolt first. Quote
bonathanjarrett Posted July 17, 2012 Author Posted July 17, 2012 Thanks for the solutions; the problem was solved by just drilling the bolt out. Quote
CaleHoopes Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 Shouldn't all lists of steps to do something end with: 5. Drink beer ???? Quote
