AOK
I was searching for directions to "The Little Crag" near Dufur, Oregon. A buddy of mine and I are heading that way to winter camp and hike and we wanted to check out the areas climbing. Any beta and directions will be great. Read about this little known spot in Urban Climber and want to get at it. Thank you!
AOK
Also, is "The Little Crag" the same as "Area 51?" If not, how close is Area 51 to The Little Crag?

d_sowerby
Also, is "The Little Crag" the same as "Area 51?" If not, how close is Area 51 to The Little Crag? Different crag, but in the same area. couple of miles apart. They are on different sides of the same ridge. -------dave

stevetimetravlr
Typical basaltic andesite climbing at this crag. They fail to mention in the article that it is high elevation and pretty cold and shady place half of the year, and the other half of the time rattlesnakes are a concern. I had one jump at me and literally go right over my head while I was climbing there, no shit! If you bring a dog be aware that this remote place has a healthy population of mountain lions as well.
