Whatcomboy Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 Might go for southwest route this week. Sahale Arm or Horseshoe Basin opinions on approach? Don't remember running water if we bivy on Arm. Quote

Don't remember running water if we bivy on Arm. You can't really bivy on the Sahale arm... there is a camp up high, and they enforce only camping there. Quote
Whatcomboy Posted September 8, 2011 Author Posted September 8, 2011 Sorry, that's what I meant to say. Getting a permit for Sahale camp or go thru the basin. Quote
ewhack Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 Haven't come up from lower Horseshoe Basin. The descent from the toe of the Sahale Glacier into upper Horseshoe Basin is pretty straight forward; beware rock fall. I would recommend that approach. Probably less bugs. The camp in upper Horseshoe stands as one of my favorites. Quote
