Hint: there are two peaks in this image. Bonus points if you know how long it has been physically possible to boulder on the rocks in the foreground.

Mt hood in the distance. And you could boulder on those rocks since May 18, 1980 or thereabouts. And I know who you are. Get back to work or I'm telling your advisor.

Well, its a .... charming... summit. If I had to guess, I'd say you were standing on St Helens looking at Adams, hence those summit rocks were not in that configuration before May 18th, 1980.

Folks, we have a winner!

 

The photo is taken on the summit of Lassen looking north at Shasta. The black rocks are eruptive products 1914-1915. I would have waited at least a couple of days to climb as they were still hot enough to scald for a few days after the eruption (plus a few plinian eruptions that would, well hurt).
